World-famous mum announces that twin girls are on the way!

marThis famous mum-of-one hit the headlines in recent years when she took just two weeks out of her high powered position at Yahoo after becoming a mum for the first time.

And despite generating much global discussion following her decision, it seems she intends to do the same when she becomes a mum again later this year!

Yahoo chief executive, Marissa Mayer, used her blog as a platform to share the fact that she will be welcoming identical twin girls into her life in December – something which she admits comes as quite a surprise!

Opening up about her future plans, the 40-year-old Silicon Valley chief says that she intends to balance working life with motherhood in the same way she did when she became a mum to son Macallister Bogue in 2012.

Clarifying the matter, Marissa, who is responsible for extending Yahoo’s parental leave, wrote that she would “approach the pregnancy and delivery as I did with my son three years ago, taking limited time away and working throughout.”

The executive, who ignited much discussion about maternity leave following her decision to return to work after just a fortnight away from the office, then turned her attention to her son’s future siblings.

Commenting on the fact that she was carrying twins, the expectant mum revealed that she hadn’t anticipated such wonderful news.

Opening up about her impending arrivals, she wrote: “[I have] no family history of twins or any other predisposing factors.”

Wishing her much luck in this exciting new chapter!
