TV star reveals she wants to keep her kids away from the acting world

Star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar has revealed that she is very protective about her kids being in the limelight.

Sarah has two children with her husband of 12 years, fellow actor Freddie Prinze Jr. However, even with two actors in the family, Sarah wants to keep her five-year-old daughter, Charlotte, and two-year-old son, Rocky, away from the acting world until they are old enough to decide for themselves.

“I think that might be child abuse if I sent my two year old to work,” she said. “It’s one thing to have a dream and it’s another thing to be the child of two actors. I think it puts an extremely different spin on it. They would have to do it as an adult.”

The 37-year-old mum is taking a break from acting for the time being to focus on her family.

Her last role was on the sitcom The Crazy Ones, where she co-starred with the late Robin Williams. The show was cancelled in May this year after receiving poor viewing figures.

“I’m taking a break right now,” she explained. “It was an emotional experience and an experience that was amazing, but I need a little break after all of that.”

“Right now it’s just being a mum full time.”
