Family Life

So THIS is what makes 64pc of Irish people happy… and you'll totally agree

We enjoy the simple pleasures in life and it doesn't take much to make us happy, to be honest.

With that in mind, we weren't surprised to learn that more than half of us are happy when our favourite packet of biscuits is in the house.

The research conducted by Tesco Ireland also found that 43 percent of Irish adults say that a small surprise from a family member puts a smile on their face at the end of a busy week.

Sure, who doesn't love getting pressies every now and then?

However, the one piece of research that didn't really surprise us was the fact that a cup of tea being made by a family member makes 64 percent of us happy – this rises to 79 percent in Connacht.

A cup of tea is good… but a cup of tea handed to you is so much better.

“Family is something that means a lot to Irish people, through the little things we do for our loved ones," Sean Nolan, Head of Customer Marketing, at Tesco Ireland said.

"To that end, at Tesco we’re committed to putting family at the heart of everything we do.

"Our Family Makes Us Better creative uses real Irish family moments and shows that we recognise how important family is to shoppers in Ireland and will demonstrate how Tesco works to make family life better too."

So, do you agree with the research? Does a cup of tea being made by someone else make you happy? 'Cause it certainly makes us smile!
