Pork pie
- 500g Pork mince
- 2 tsp of pork seasoning
- Seasoning
- 1 tsp of salt
- 1/2 tsp black ground pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 pack of ready-made short crust pastry
- Dash of water
Method:
- Take pastry out of fridge and set aside.
- Preheat oven at 220°C
- Meanwhile, mix meat with salt, pepper and pork seasoning in a bowl.
- Use your hands to spread the seasoning throughout the mince.
- Add a dessert spoon of water to make it easier.
- Roll out pastry and cut a circle big enough for the mince to fit in and then bring up the sides to make a pie shape.
- Use the pastry to cut out a lid for the pie and then use the beaten egg to set the lid on top.
- Transfer pie onto a tray with baking paper on and glaze the whole pie with the egg.
- Prick a fork on top to let some air out.
- Cook in an oven for 50 minutes or until meat is cooked and pastry has browned.
- Bring pie out of oven and cool on the tray for about 30 minutes.
- Transfer to cooling rack and serve.
