Little boy diagnosed with stage 4 cancer for second time wants just ONE thing

Six-year-old Max Wenman was just two when he was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a type of cancer that mostly affects children under five, and generally arises around the adrenal glands.

Fortunately, after a series of chemo and radiation treatments, the Longford lad was given the all clear three years ago.

But life struck him another blow recently when he was diagnosed with the same disease for the second time. This time, it’s stage four – serious.

“It’s different this time,” mum Cathy Bermingham said in a video doing the rounds on Youtube.

“When he was two, we just dragged him around everywhere and it was fine. But with a six-year-old, you have to try and explain what’s happening in a way that makes sense to a child.”

Luckily, Max is a positive little guy which keeps mum Cathy’s spirits up. “Because he’s smiling most of the time, you’re not sitting around miserable,” she said.

One of the things that puts that smile on Max’s face is WWE. The little boy loves wrestling more than anything else.

“He says the couch is his trampoline,” Cathy said.

Young Max is currently undergoing cancer treatments again. While watching wrestling on TV is keeping his spirits up, mum Cathy wants to do more.

That’s why she’s asking for help. But she’s not asking for money – she’s simply asking for any used WWE memorabilia that people might have lying around the house that little Max could play with during his treatment.

If you think you can help, donations will be accepted at an event on June 19th at the Woolshed Baa & Grill on Dublin’s Parnell St, and they’re calling the campaign #MemorabiliaForMax.

What a sweet idea. Let’s hope some people step up and give Max something to keep smiling about.
