Honey glazed ham

honey glazed hamIngredients:

  • 2.2kg ready-to-eat ham
  • 90g whole cloves
  • 80g dark corn syrup
  • 680g cups honey
  • 150g butter

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 165 °C/325°F.
  2. Score ham and then stud with the whole cloves.
  3. Place the meat in a foil lined pan.
  4. Heat the corn syrup with honey and butter in the top half of a double boiler.
  5. Keep the glaze warm while baking ham.
  6. Brush over ham and bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes in the preheated oven.
  7. Baste ham every 10 to 15 minutes with the honey glaze and in the last 4 to 5 minutes of baking, turn on broiler to caramelize the glaze.
  8. Remove from oven, and let sit a few minutes before serving.
