I read this earlier. I think it's a good move and hopefully will inject some life into the market.

I've just been approved a new mortgage to buy ex out of family home and to pay off the balance of our existing mortgage which has a tracker. I wonder would I be eligible to hold on to my tracker at all? Probably too late as the application has gone through and been approved??

ETA, current and new mortgage are both with PTSB.

Congratulations spangly!! It's worth checking it out anyway but if it involves another application process I suspect you may want to hold onto the approval you just got and move back in.

I would imagine it will only be available to those who are looking to move property as it's to encourage purchasing. Worth asking though.

Yeah that's what I gathered after reading more into it Petal. I'll give the mortgage advisor that I've been dealing with in the local branch a ring later and see if she'll look into it for me.
