You have to try these GENIUS parenting tips and tricks

We will take ALL the help we can get.

That’s why whenever we come across any parenting hacks we obsessively save them somewhere for future use.

They always come in handy – especially when it comes to saving a small fortune (and time!)  Read on to be completely enlightened.

1. Lint roller at the ready

Save hours of scrubbing the carpets and trying to get glitter out of rugs with this handy tip. It is super easy to just roll it over the table or floor after a particularly crafty, crafts activity. Just zip it over a few times and you will thank us!

2. Cup magnets

Do you get tired of hearing ‘can I have a drink’ for the 1000th time in a day? Make it easier for your older kids to refill their own water cups by sticking a little magnet to the side and pop them onto the front of the fridge. Your child will feel self-sufficient, you won’t be driven demented and you are teaching them how to be independent. Win-win.

3. Teach them the right foot for shoes

We love this handy tip. Cut a sticker in two and place it on the inside of your children’s shoes. They just have to piece them together the right way to make them work. GENIUS!

4. Never run out of ink

Don’t underestimate the power of the printer. We use ours for printing out free colouring pages, scavenger hunts and more recently free templates for star charts for rewards. There are join the dot activities, amazingly simple craft activities like masks you can download and our favourite, scrapbooking. Just don’t run out of ink!

5. Froggy fingers

Teach your child to hold their pencil using this neat trick. Just get them to bundle a tissue with the rest of their fingers while they use the correct thumb and index finger to hold the pen or crayon. Easy peasy and your child’s teacher will be impressed.

Let us know your other tips and tricks that can help other parents in the future! All ideas welcome.
