Whenever I go away I always pick up a tube of antibiotic cream in the chemist as I find it very handy to have at home however I'm normally in Spain or Majorca on hols so its very easy to get. Is it possible to buy it in France over the counter or does it need a prescription like here. TIA

Hi there

Not sure about the antibiotic cream but would think you could get it. If you have time pick up Maxilase (over the counter - best medicine ever for adults and kids for sore throat). Toplexil is great also for coughs. All over the counter in France. When ours were small we used to pick up the suppositories also for coughs (I know they bother some people but not us) they are great for kids who have a mad cough and who are getting sick with it. And of course eosine (like macuracrum excuse the spelling) the best thing ever for sore bums if you have someone that small.
Hope this helps, you could try posting in the French expats part of MM someone there is bound to know about the antibiotic cream. I got some in Italy a few weeks ago so I would say you can get it in France.

Shellie

Hi,

A cream that contains antibiotics would be on prescription only as far as I am aware.

Yes, I tried to get Fucidin last year and I was told it was prescription only.

If you have a prescription for it, bring it with you, and check the price. It could be substantially cheaper there and they will fill an Irish prescription.
