I left it a bit late to book a hotel for Disneyland Paris. By the time I booked the only place with reasonable prices was the Sante Fe. After I booked I had a look online for comments on the hotel and was horrified to read about how many people have complained about things being stolen from their rooms. For those of you who have stayed at the Sante Fe Hotel - How did you find it? Should I pay double the price and stay someplace else? I'm worried about our safety as its only DD and I.

I found it fine. Very helpful staff. No problems whatsoever and would return.

we found the Sante Fe fine too. No complaints.

We also stayed in the Dream Castle Hotel on a different trip, but the price of it is mad!

I also want to try and have some chilled time this trip, as our previous visit have been very full on.

Thanks so much everyone. Last time we were there we stayed in the Disneyland Hotel and I don't think it was worth the money we paid. I've stayed in much better hotels (not Disney) for much less money than I paid for that hotel last year. The rooms were nothing special and the service was terrible compared. I don't mind that the Sante Fe is a 2 star hotel - its more than half the price of the New York and Disneyland Hotel so I expect a 2 star hotel.

I am worried about these two reviews on Watchdog:
'put our 600 euros and £30 in the room safe and locked it with my personal code. the next morning i opened the safe to get some money to find the safe was empty!!! we contacted the manager who took our statement but would not let us write it was stolen but had disappeared and then drove us to police station. the police rang the security that manages all the disney hotels and he confirmed that the same thing had happened 6 months ago. the manager also explained that their policy is that no one is allowed to enter the room without your permission and you have to be there. though the following day while me and my husband took the kids to the park my father (who was in the joining room) found a man tampering with my safe with no i.d. and no permission so obiviously this policy is a pile of rubbish'
and
'We had several items stolen from our luggage from the room on the last day of our visit. As we realised that after leaving the hotel, the customer services (worst I have ever seen) refused to do anything. They won't even let us have a copy of their complaint procedure despite several requests! We did not even hear an apology. They were quite happy to say in essence that as there is no proof they won't do anything. But we must go and visit them again soon.
This was enough to ruin our holiday. This trip was for our daughter's birthday who lost a new £70 dress among the items stolen'

Its not my stuff being stolen I'm concerned about (I dont' think anyone would want my stuff), but I do care that we might not be safe in our room at night - if you know what I mean. If this means I have to pay a ridiculous price to stay in one of the 5 star hotels...then I will. The 3 star hotels are already fully booked. This is what I'm wondering about after reading these reviews - they are recent - from April 2012 and November 2011.

Morgs that would make me hesitant too, they obviously have a light fingered member of staff.

We stayed in March 2011 & it was fine, basic but fine.

Maybe contact customer service about the reports & say you are reluctant to book given the feedback & see what they say?

Morgs - that would put me off too. Like you I'd worry about sleeping at night.

Thanks so much for your replies. I phoned Disney today and they were surprised to hear this feedback. I gave them the website and hopefully they'll look into it. They have put comments into my reservation notes saying I'm concerned for our safety and to put us somewhere close to the centre of things (where people will be coming and going - somehow that makes me feel safer). The lady I spoke to was very good. She did say that a couple of her colleagues have just come back from Disneyland Paris and they stayed at the Sante Fe and they thought it was great. And you have all said it was fine, so I'm sure it will be fine. It will have to be - the next hotel with space is €2000 more expensive than what I've got :yell:
Thanks so much again for all of your replies - you have eased my mind.

I stayed in this hotel last October. Like you, I was the only adult in the room, with my children.

I never felt anything but safe and found the hotel to be grand, just what we needed. Nothing luxurious but that isn't what we were looking for as we didn't spend much time there. But it was very clean and comfortable, easy to get to and from and as we said, felt very safe. Would go back.

Enjoy your trip.

I'm sitting in the airport lounge at CDG (lovely man at check in gave us an invitation :satisfied: ). We are on our way home after a wonderful 4 days at Disneyland Paris. Just wanted to say the Sante Fe was fine. Our room was clean and had loads of space. I liked the decor. The power shower was to die for (I wish I had one as strong at home) and the walk from the Sante Fe to the Parks is not long (took us less than 10 mins each day) and its really nice because you walk along the river/canal (whatever it is) and past the other hotels (so gave us a chance to look at them for next time  ). I liked the Sante Fe very much. Each hotel seems to have its own charm. Thanks again to everyone who put my mind at rest when I first posted this topic.
