EXCUSE ME! I AM NORA BATTY, remember I had my profile pic up for ages,
Peace lilly, god love ya, good attempt at a lets just get one going, but really it was too obvious so it tended up as a sniggerfest, if you want to do the wooden spoon, take it from me, just post what looks like an innocent post that goes against the grain, and sit back and wait. Where is Rachemm, she was so brilliant, I wanted to do awards at the first ball, and award her a gold wooden spoon. I miss those fun days. Or start a post that you have bought a lovely tshirt for you baby and post a pic of the tshirt with nipple tassels,......or make a point that you never got penalty points and never will. You have so much to learn... never mind next time it might take off better for ya,. Still though nine pages, it was a fair post, but you lost the round the girls had the wittiest and smartest smart ass posts.

well I hope the op is ok. My sister went through a very bad time with booze and more than often would pick fights with strangers ( IRL) not on the net. She felt so worthless she wanted everyone to hate her because she felt that is what she deserved. It was very upsetting. The op maybe nasty to people but I don't see the point in fanning the flames, she should be ignored. The poor girl has a problem.

I think there's a lot of truth in this. And for what it's worth, peacelily, I've always thought you came across as very likeable here, and now you're just someone nice who's hurting and lashing out because of that. I won't be convinced otherwise.

Peacelily is a lovely super intelligent compassionate person. Unfortunately the drink makes people change.

Oh good Jesus.

DRINK is causing problems in my life, not the other way round.

Ach, I give up, from here on in, trying to explain this disease to the earthlings.

The problem is you. The reason is drink. Massive difference. My father is a recovered alcohlic. Only YOU have that decision. I hope you go the right way about it because you can be a nice person.Drinking does not need to make you nasty. Good luck with it all .

And you presume that the "earthlings", none of them, have ever been touched by alcoholism in some way, shape or form? It's hardly an original illness. In my experience, my dad turned to drink to cope with the loss of my mum. He drank because of his problems, not the other way around. Your situation is that drink is the cause of your problems. It affects different people in different ways. There is no uniformity in alcoholism.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's a shame that you, or anyone else, suffers from it. It's an awful disease that rips lives apart, not only the life of the sufferer but the lives of those around them. And it's not as simple as going to AA or counselling or a stay in a detox centre. You know what made my dad quit? Cirrhosis. He tried everything and was only successful for short periods of time. Only when he nearly died from cirrhosis did he turn his life around. I genuinely hope it doesn't come to that for you.

I feel your authenticity from your post. I'm really sorry I'm the same as your Dad. I am trying so hard to recover.

why does everyone assume that drink is the reason that peace lilly had to just upset the applecart?
I see this , all through the tread? why can't she decide to just post a really bitchy post without a drink? I am amazed by this idea, to be honest, must one be pissed to take on MM?.
Perhaps there were a few glasses of wine involved, but how sad does that make the rest of us, that we are too scared to post something way out there, in case everyone assumes we are drunk?
I Loved when there were right good rows on mm, they would start any day of the week , and get better as the week went on,
perhaps the op was trying to just add spice to the mm machine??

probably because I had admitted to being an alcoholic in a previous post?
After such an admission, everything you ever have to say shall be completely dismissed. :stern:

Peacelily is getting an abundance of help. Her daughter is being cared for so don't worry about that.

Doesn't sound like it from her posts on here.

Peacelily should be answering these herself, but her daughter isn't "in care"
