Thats a pity Twinkle ,hopefully you did not get too much stuff. You can return them if they dont fit because they have an address here to send them to .
I usually just give anything I get wrong away as pressies , there is always a birthday coming up . They usually cost less than what I would pay here for something in DS .
There is nearly always a size chart on the sites because each brand can be a bit different . Their sizes are in inches too so its worth measuring everybody with a tape and then you will know what sizes you need.

Digout I do the same as you - have had to regift the first and ONLY time I made that mistake ! After that the measuring tape came out and we all lined up - it's worth that few minutes just to get the fit right. :D

Girls

Im loving us buyers club, i got the most beautiful dresses and skorts with gymboree for my dd she is quite tall for 6 and wears sometimes 8/9 years clothes and i find alot of the clothes too old for her. The quality of the clothes is excellent i have ordered age 9 years and a tall for her and they fit perfectly. For my ds i got size 4t, the american sizes seem to cater for their height perfectly. I ordered for ds from old navy and i probably could have gone up another size. My other half is delighted with himself he is 6ft 5 and has huge problems getting clothes that are fashionable to fit. Old navy is the business im finding i need to go up a size for everyone, my next order will be for me though.

It sounds like you did good especially if it was your first package .Have a look at American Eagle for tall casual stuff and Macy's usually have tall Ralph Lauren stuff on sale if you are looking for more dressy shirts etc. If you are going to tell any friends to join up make sure to tell them to put your name on their form because its worth 50 points this month . I had a neighbor sign up last weekend after telling her for months but she forgot to use my name so I lost out :bomb: . Make sure that does not happen you because they are worth alot , they have alot of nice things in the auction these days.

I haven't read the whole thread so can someone give me the jist of usbc. It seems a bit complicated to me. Can you get electronics? How long does it take to be delivered from when you order? What's this action thing?

Moesha if yo look at their website usbuyers.com it exPlains it all. You basically pay them annual fee of €35 to join. Then you get an email with an American address so you can shop on the American websites. You can either order the stuff yourself or get them to order it they will use any discounts they have to get you as low of a price as possible. I have had them order stuff from bloomIngdales asks old navy and children's place I shop in sale section and look on www.bradsdeals.cOm for coupons which I give them and they have come back to me once saying that they can get more. Discount so that was great. I also joined the mailing list for the shops as you get discount codes that way too. Anyhow they take a commission for doing all of that or if you order yourself they take a handling fee still works out a lot cheaper than here. If you join and you name a person who referred you they get points for the auction I haven't used the auction yet but you get a list of how you get points on their page. If you do decide to join and want someone's details for referral I would appreciate the points please.

Well girls my first package arrived on Friday and I'm delighted. I had kids clothes, hoodies, jeans and make-up in it. It was like Christmas morning going through it!

Def recommend it for anyone who is sitting on the fence trying to decide should they sign up or not!

Ok, I'm getting reeled in. So what happens when you are in the process of ordering on the websites. Do you use your cc, and out in the cardholders details and then ship to a different address? How then do usbc know who ordered what when it arrives st their address?

Moesha you copy and paste your order into aN email to Ann and Aidan and they order it no need for you to use your cc if you don't want to

I did mine two ways

- ordered stuff directly from websites using my own card and shipped them to the address USBC gave me
- emailed Ann direct with items I wanted from websites that don't always accept Irish cards

The benefit with the second option is that I only had a small order for one childrens site. Because they had a few orders to put through for the same site they were able to avail of the discounts that come with ordering over a certain value.

Sometimes if I find a discount myself I ask Ann has she anything better - if not I will order myself. It all depends on where you can make the best savings.

USBC give you a suite number when signing up so when you are buying from websites the delivery address is your name followed by your suite number.

Ann also removed all the excess packaging from my deliveries meaning they could send everything in one box lowering the shipping costs.

I've already started ordering more items for my next package - the kids clothes are great value especially if they are on sale and you have discounts.

Hope that helps! :)

Twinkle mine was posted probably the Friday before so all in all it took about a week for it to arrive - no customs either! :)

Hi all,

Have been following this thread with great interest, think its a great idea!

Just one question though, is there any chance that the packages can be caught for Customs? If so, how much would that be? Is it just luck if you get caught or not?

Love the idea of having such a choice of retailers to choose from, the US stuff is so much cheaper & better quality.............

thanks
Muffin

Muffin there is a chance but I think it may still work out cheaper. I think one
Mm had a kindle stopped but it still worked out a lot cheaper than over here. I think it is worth the risk. I am ordering small packets in the hope that if they are stopped it is only all things.

If you are joining could I be cheeky and ask could I give you my details so I can get the points please?

Did you get caught for customs twinkle? My package should be here soon and I am apprehensive about sizing and customs. Fingers crossed here!

Should I hang my head in shame and admit that I started buying for package number two as package number one was being boxed up!! :)

I ended up buying some Carters and Osh Kosh clothes the last time -I'm really pleased with them - the Osh Kosh ones are pressies but the Carter's ones were for my DD and they are so cute - she got loads of compliments for one of the outfits that she wore this week!

I need to start shopping for myself though!!!
