My 4th baby was born 16 days ago and I STILL look pregnant. I am itching to wear my pre preggo clothes again but the way I am God knows how long it will be before I can do that. My fellow march 2012 Mummies seem to have no preggo looking tums anymore and I'm willing mine to disappear. Anyone the same? How long did it take yours to go down?

Give urself a break girl, its ur fourth child and its only 16 days since u gave birth, I know on my third I found it took me longer to lose the pregnant look but within a few weeks it was grand, put it to the back of ur mind and it'll just happen itself and then wen the baby is a bit older if ur still not entirely happy u can ease urself into some light exercise if u want to.

Girl you literaly just had a baby and believe me I can empathise 100%. You have to accept your going to have that belly for another few weeks especially after your fourth. Get yourself into penny's and buy a pair of jeans in your current size and focus on wearing dresses. It will go down, I had my baby four months ago, my third and I waited until he was six weeks before I exercised and you must do the same. My tummy is way down now. Just don't do the dog on the chocolate and it will be fine and don't ruin the first few weeks with bambino like I did hating yourself because of a few body parts - you'll be gorgeous again x

Did you have a section daffodil?

Im shocked by how "pregnant" I still look but I didn't realise (even thinks been told I would be) how swollen my tummy would be after the op!!

I had a little Hormental snot fest yesterday to mum about how enormous I still am (I know, 3 days later, how rational!!) but the bloating and swelling after section is something else!

You are doing great it's only been 2 weeks don't be so hard on yourself x

I know how you feel. I was like that after dd. I'm actually going on a mini shopping spree soon to stock up on some forgiving tops that cover my post-baby belly before the next one arrives. It took 5 or 6 months after dd for me to feel anyway normal again about the belly.

When I read this first I thought you said 16 wks and even then I was thinking give yourself a break girl but 16 DAYS  seriously give yourself a break!!

We can be our own worst enemy at the best of times and no doubt in a few weeks time I'll be posting something similar to you, but do go easy on yourself and enjoy your newborn.

Your tummy will go down, like others y drink plenty of water, lord knows there's enough fluid still going around your body from the pregnancy and drinking lots of water will help flush it all out.

I have dd's communion 2 wks after my babs due date and I am dreading what I'm going to look like!!

"Wear" your newborn. Aha! Lightbulb moment. I'm finally getting why they called it baby wearing. Put your baby in a sling and then no one will notice your tummy and if they do they'll know why it's there!

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. I remember when you announced your twin pregnancy! God time flies!

(Also, as said already, drink lots of water but also sugary/salty drinks like 7-up or lucozade, you're probably retaining water and the best way to get rid of that is to drink more of it but not totally water, 7-up is good, or dioralyte either)

I rem looking in the mirror after ds4 and thinking the same. But do you know what, the more kids you have, the longer it takes for the uterus to go back to normal size. This is what contributes to the of look after delivery.

Lay off the comfort food at night. I used to sit I the small hours of the morning, feeling sorry for myself cos I was the only one up feeding baby, all while reaching for the box of chocs cos I was starving cos I didn't get 5 mins to myself during the day, let alone have time to eat.
Give yoursekf at least 4 weeks before doing anything about your exercise, although a nice walk with baby is fine!

please tell me you are joking.
dd was 15 mths when i got back into my pre pregnancy jeans!!
even if you started dieting and exercising now it would make no difference.its too soon! you were pregnant for 9 mths you made another human being! give yourself a break girl.
enjoy your new baby and let your body recover.

Thanks all. I know I am being very impatient. It didn't help today when I was told in two different shops (I got away from dh and the kids for a whole 2 hours!!) that I had a "cute little bump". Engol your idea of wearing the baby is a good one alright. My sister even gave me a loan of her sling. Must try that when I'm a bit stronger (I'm a bit like a crippled owl one still). Can't believe you remember me announcing my twin preggo. That's quite a while ago now - they're almost 6  time is going too fast!!
Hifive I'm being very good with not reaching for the junk food. I must be taking in 2000 less calories since I had the little baba and no exaggeration there. I was scoffing everything in sight.

Daffodil I bought a few things in warehouse 3 weeks after giving birth. They were all 16 and I didn't try them in thinking oh their nice and big - ill fit them.
Well I didn't and I cried tears and I felt horrible. But now they fit and in fact they are getting big! I found wearing a corset helped but obviously if you've had a section that wont do! The sling idea is a good one! I've said it already bit you'll be back to your gorgeous self in no time !

It's 16 days, give yourself a chance. This might make you feel better. I was asked while working thursday 'hows the pregnancy going'. DD2 is 5 months!. She was very lucky i laughed.

I was still looking pregnant for about 3 weeks after having DS2. As in actually having a bump, not just jelly belly, it has gone down a good bit now but I am still not close to getting back into my pre pregnancy clothes.

I'm starting the 30 day shred DVD now to try get me there, but it's only now that I find I even have the time to consider exercising compared to a few weeks ago.
