Yes been using it since the end of January and have lost a half a stone. Love the way it tells you what you would weigh it you ate like a particular day.

Ok set up an account and have logged breakfast in. Does anybody do jillian michaels shred? Just wondering how you input that into the exercise part. Planning to start that later and a half hour walk.

Hiya! I'm ballyer2011 on MFP and would love MFP friends.

Started using it last year and lost 7lbs - it was amazing. Then went on holidays and got out of the habit of using it. Back on track for about 10 days and 3lbs down.

Was attempting to maintain a food journal on MM but don't log in everyday so that didn't really work but I did find out from doing it for just 3 days that carbs are an issue. So, I am off all breads now since last Monday. Can't believe it's been that easy (did have to leave the breakfast table this morning though as I sooooo wanted a slice of toast lol)! Chocolate will be much more challenging but little steps.

I would be interested in everyone's thoughts on 'Cheat/Treat' days. Doesn't seem to work for me :(

Best of luck to everyone - sounds like some great successes so far!!

I'm Derv on mfp, feel free to add me, include your mm name in the message.

babymomma, I used to enter it as circuit traiing, general

cognac, well done on kicking the bread. I think cheat days are counter-productive and promote the mid-set that the rest of the time you are depriving yourself. If you see food as nourishment, and medicine for your body, why would you want to cheat on it with crap? On a weight-loss scenario you could also totally eleiminate several days calorie defecit with one blow-out.

Hi Ladies, where do you go on the app to scan food items? Never knew that it could be done. So handy! :stupid:

So when you click "add", then select the meal you are adding to, to the right of the "search for food" entry box is a barcode (lots of vertical lines with one horizontal line through it) Press that and it will activate the scanner... YOu need a camera Phone for it to work... Just position the barcode you want to scan in the box on you screen and it will freeze while it checks the food database

Just a question....
I use an iPad, and sometimes the code will "freeze" in the box and be valued, and sometimes not!
Anyone else have this problem? Sometimes I'm standing there like a twit over something, at least not in the supermarket!!

Love this app! I've been using since after Xmas and I'm down over half a stone. I don't have a lot to lose so just aiming for 1 lb a week but it's working so far. I also exercise 3 times a week. My big downfall is crisps so I always enter a packet for my nighttime treat and work back from there :-) it makes such a difference when you start logging everything. Your mind really focuses I think. Does anyone know how many calories are burned in a half hour walk, not a super fast one but just a walk with the pram. I think the cals they suggest you burn are way over!

Hi girls,
I am down 2 lbs this morning so that's 5 down since I started 2 weeks ago.
I am delighted and cannot believe how easy this seems to be so far.
I could of course be eating my words next Wednesday

I'd say you wouldn't burn more than 75-80 cals during a relaxed 30 min walk. The big calorie burners are running and high intensity cardiovascular exercise like cross trainer with high resistance, spinning etc.

I would like to lose only half a stone but even though I work out 3-4 times a week, fairly high intensity, I never lose. I know what it is, I eat a LOT, big portions and also snack at night and several cups of tea with honey throughout the day but the more I exercise the hungrier I get..... am thinking if I log then I will see it in black and white and that might slow me down.

Good luck everyone, it's a cool app. Now I just need to find my phone again. Have already stopped the washing machine mid cycle and looked there, as well as searched the dustbin..... it's nowhere to be found!! : (

Am 5 lbs down now since I started, was in the uk at the weekend and am surprised at how little junk food I ate  I think watching the calories retrains your brain to eat more healthy options. I haven't had chocolate or crisps in weeks but don't really want them either :bigups: although I am only down the few pounds my clothes feel much more comfy and when I look in the mirror I think I look better... That could be down to running too tho, either way, pretty happy with my own progress :bigups:

I am down 7lbs since I started and I am still loving it, I have 12 more to go by July though :( .

Easter eggs are still here so that is hindering my weight loss, I am thinking of joining the gym on Monday as I am not exercising since my friend moved up the country ( we used to go running together :( and I am lasy go on my own).

Just downloaded this after reading this thread. I have nearly 2 stone to lose  find ww hard to stick at so hoping this will work for me.

Edited to ask - how does it work out how many calories you should have? I'm being allowed just 1200 per day which seems very little. I have quite a bit of weight to lose and am only 5ft 2". Wondering if this is why?

Did you put in your measurements? When you register it asks for your details. Have you filled that in? It also asks how much weight you want to lose, and how quickly. Based on that, it works out your calorie intake.

I'm 5'3 and want to lose just under 2 stone @1lb per week. My allowance is 1450 per day (I assume this also depends on your current weight...which I ain't postin' on here lol)

Yeah I put in all the details. I'm 10 st 11lbs and want to get down to 9 st. I'm
5ft 2". It tells me I need to have just 1200 cals per day. Can't remember when I said I want to lose it by but maybe that's what is throwing up the cals.
