Last year we.went to Lake Garda it is beautiful there and loads of campsites to choose from. You can fly to Verona and it is very close. Bergamo is about 1.5 hours drive. Venice area is also good area.for camping but havent been myself.

Lake Garda is beautiful, we stayed at Bella Italia last year and have booked Camping del Garda this year
a few years ago we stayed at Puerto Felice ( fly to Venice) which was lovely, their accommodation was far
superior to Bella Italia however I felt you needed a car here, it is walking distance to the local town through
pinewood forests and has its own beach.another great campsite is Pradelle Tori.
Hope you have a lovely holiday!

don't know about camping but the le marche region is glorious and much less touristy than other areas and the adriatic coast is much nicer than the med.

We went to Union Lido three years in a row and it was fantastic. They say its the best site in Europe and having been to a few of them since I'd agree. Proximity to Venice is a real bonus - loved making day trips in there. The facilities in UL are great- everything in one place and no need to rent a car. A public bus stops outside from Treviso airport so you can avoid a cab fare as well (Bus to Punta Sabbione via Cavallino). My girls loved the entertainment and kids club and we usually travelled with Elle Vacancze -it may be booked out already at this stage though. We also stayed in Bella Italia near Garda - another great spot but not as nice. The only downside to UL was the mosquitos- we got savaged and ended up in pharmacies and hospital. That may have just been our Irish skin! For some reason the mozzies weren't as big a problem in Bella Italia.

Hi Silke,

We're off to Union Lido in June (for the 3rd time). We've never used the kids club as our kids were a bit small but I'm pretty sure it's running by June. We might check it out this year. It could depend on who you book with as there's the main site club but a lot of the tour operators seem to operate their own ones as well. Anyway if you've any other questions let me know as I know the place well at this stage.

xL.

Yes the UL kids club was running in June when we were there - it ran twice a day (2 hour slots) and usually the activities are set out in advance so you can pick and choose what you wanted them to do. They are very well run and they also had a baby/toddler creche if you wanted an hour at the beach by yourself. My girls loved going to the club most days and we would finish up with an hour in the forest on the swings and slides which is right beside the beach.

Forgot to mention they also have a free Pediatric Doctor available every evening around 6pm near reception. The service is free and they ask you to make a €3 donation only. It's a really handy service for the likes of infected Mozzie bites etc. Hopefully you won't need it!
