He's gorgeous. Glad he settled for you last night. Just wondering what time did you give him his last feed at? We moved ours to about 5-6pm when he was little, as the earlier we fed him the earlier he pooped, ie not in the middle of the night.

Oh dogs bollox. Right. I was tired and did say it to DH that someone called me their Pugs balls and he thought I had finally flipped and then said it wasn't an insult but didn't mention any bollox.

I'm glad he is settled. If you are finding he needs to pooh during the night, set your alarm for 2.30am. I found my fella need to go at that time (actually 2.40am). At least you don't have to get up to a pooh and have to deal with all of that. By 9 weeks he slept through.

Oh! You really didn't get it lol
4LM I thought you were kidding, I'm rather disappointed in you now, try harder next time missus :stern:

I set my alarm last night for 3am and 6am, do you think I would get away with just doing a 2:30 one? That would be nice.

Thanks again for all the help.

x

I wasn't kidding. I was sitting with my sister watching her (she didn't realise) and pretending to post replies here. I'm a bit tired the last few mad days. DH really did think I was nuts (no pun intended) asking what it means to be called a Pugs balls. :lookround:

I used to do just one for all the pups when they where here. I would come down at 2.30am and let them out two at a time to the toilet. It meant I wasn't waking up to a load of pee and pooh. If I came down at 3am they had already gone all over themselves. You will know when he can go through the night, if your crate is big enough, newspaper on one side should be sufficient though. He should still be on 4 meals a day so his last meal should be at 7pm no later than that. Run him around a bit if you can to get things moving.

our puppy wouldn't have any of the crate. Once he had gone to the toilet in it, that was the end of the crate. He was so distressed by it.

Ended up just leaving him in the kitchen with low radio playing and a light on. He stayed on a dog bed and there wasn't a whimper out of him. We didn't take him out at night as didn't want him to be start expecting it. Just cleaned up the mess in the morning. He was night trained very quickly. No whimpering at all from the first night of no crate and the radio/light.

Stopped the radio and light after a month or so and no problems.
