Ladies where can I start getting clothes that will fit my 5 month old baby? He has such a long body and none of his tops will fit him properly. He's now in 12-18 size tops and they're still too short. I'm starting to panic a bit that he'll never stop growing and I'll always be playing catch up.

Can any of you more experienced mammies advise on where the best place to shop for him would be??

Same with my 2 boys both v long/tall too. i find Tesco brilliant esp for babygros/vests but also their clothes sizing seem generous as in length.....They wash/dry v well too.

I also find H&M and M&S generously sized...DD always wears a size up on her upper half. Long back like her daddy!

Yea DS has a very long body so nothing usually fits. I've tried the Tesco clothes but the don't cover his bellybutton lol!

M&S seem to be good at sizing for him alright but it's a bit more expensive when he outgrows them in a matter of weeks :nervous:

H&M and Teco are sized big but not long as such, if he is long and skinny Zara would be a good bet.

So funny how all kids fit different shops sizes best. I just got a bag of 2-3 clothes for DD and the Zara stuff would not have fit her 6 months ago.

Now their stuff can be small fitting, you may still need to get 12-18months but at least they won't be mad wide on him, they have gorgeous stuff on their website, you can get it couriered to you for 3.95 and anything you want to return they will send a courier to collect it for free, it's a great service,

Yea, it's not big fitting, quite small actually, but it is long and skinny.

I was just going to suggest that what you need is a brand that tends to be slim fitting and then go a size up to get the length.

I found Penny's trousers were always quite slim fitting - not too sure about the tops as I never had that issue, rather had two chunky boys who wouldn't fit into Penny's stuff and one teeny tiny skinny one who wouldn't fit into anything belonging to his older brothers!

DD is long in the back, but with girls its much easier - what I do is keep her dresses that have got too short to be dresses and these then become tunic type tops. Not much help to you though!

sorry to hijack but my DS has long legs but a tiny waist (like his dad - lucky buggers) - he needs age 4-5 in trousers to get the length but the waistbands are ridiculously big on him - even when i use the adjustable waistband they are still swimming.

where to get decent trousers that won't be huge on the waist?

Penneys do a slim fit trouser range - very good.
