Turns out it looks like everyone's going to travel for DS1's Communion - I'd thought the early start would put off a few of them, but we're now looking at about 21 people - so I need to get a restaurant sorted ASAP so we don't have to eat in shifts!!

Can anyone recommend a restaurant that's child friendly (there'll be 8 of them there on the day) in the Knocklyon/Templeogue/Terenure area? We don't eat out much (does Burger King count :blush: ?!!) and as much as DS1 would like to go to Eddie Rockets on the day :) , I need somewhere I can book in advance.

TIA.

Or Vaughan's - upstairs (Terenure village).

We'd a couple of very nice family meals in The Arches Bistro in Churchtown if you'd go that far.

Brambles in Terenure is very nice, and is a sit down waiter service. They have very nice kids food also.

This is my recommendation too, they only open at 5pm but will do private bookings earlier if booked in advance. It's where we plan to have christening for no.2. The food is really good, one of our fav places to eat.

The dropping well is also quite nice, more carvery style of food.

I had looked in the window of JD's as I was in Terenure last week looking for Little Caesars (gone!) and didn't like the single vegetarian option they had so had ruled them out :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin: ! Actually, with my sister coming, there will be two vegetarians for a change.

All this talk of restaurants is making me hungry.

Thanks a million for the suggestions - off to check them out!

Ahhh, we always go for the steak lol I'm sure if you rang or emailed John the owner (details on their site) you could discuss veggie option!

Brambles is nice too - they do a really varied set menu maybe they will have more veggie choice?!

Okay, Brambles is on the list to check out! Maybe I should suggest to DH that we just try every single restaurant before the big day :biggrin: :biggrin: !

We had DDs Christening in Bijou in Rathgar and it was lovely;

Also not the postcode you were looking for but Locks in Portobello is meant to be fab;

Just to throw some other options in the mix.

Oh, we used rent right around the corner from there - still miss those days of having EVERYTHING two minutes away!

Bijou is my favourite restaurant in the Rathgar/Terenure area.
JD's is nice, I'm a veggie and they have always done a nice pasta dish for me :)
Reeves is ok, good variety, food ok, service hit and miss.
Little Caesars behind the Orchard in Rathfarnham is nice too and good value seeing as you'll have a big group.

I'd totally forgotten about Little Caesar's in Rathfarnham - I was originally looking for their branch in Terenure as I loved it when I worked there. Just rang them and booked - thought I'd have no chance of a table so I'm thrilled!

God, I'd love some of their garlic bread right now....

Thanks for all your help - one more thing off the list!!
