I am almost too wrecked to see straight. Work is manic, DD is in her granny's for mid-term so I am clearing her mess here, my 2 grans are both quite unwell, and DH's contract is looking very messy (he's on a consultancy basis but a local Govt official got sacked today there for lack of progress (luckily DH's lot are ahead of their schedule) and he has a load of presentations tomorrow which might give an indication if they will keep the contract and indeed if he will have to add in an extra 3 week stint starting 2 weeks after he gets home (he's supposed to be home until after Easter, once he gets back - but that looks like possibly all changing). And I met 2 friends for dinner (work coleagues) tonight - one of whom annouced #3 is on the way and we'd already ordered a bottle of wine so 2 of us had to share.

|Hope all those who are unwell feel better soon. And that at least virtual hugs were had yesterday (we have done what we did on our very first V day 16 years ago and postponed until we physically see each other later in the month of Feb).

How's everyone doing?

Having a weekend at home, thought it would be a good idea as Dd has been so sick lately thought the rest would do her good, so I have just been doing chores......washing, ironing, cooking dinners to fill freezer.......so woke up this morning in the worst form ever!
No idea why....dd is being as good as gold.....:-/

Oh girls - hope you are feeling better. There really is nothing worse. Hope you all got through the weekend, Monday only around the corner at least.

Just back from Sweden/Denmark, we had a great time. We didnt go mad sightseeing as it weatger was rotten and i was still sick. Though we did catch "Legoworld" in the convention centre which was on for four days and it was amazing. DHs flat really is in a rotten location, about a twenty min bus ride from centre of Malmo out in the sticks. There was loads of room in it though and his flatmate went home for weekend, so it was great to be a family again. Definitely reinforced my decision to move over there by end of year. The kids would get on great and the people are very friendly. Crossed fingers he will be moving into Coprnhagen centre in a few weeks too - he has found a one bed place so just has to get company to agree to it.

I have, sorta, managed to get through ok. DH is stressed to the gills, and will be a day late coming home, but at least he doesn't have to go back out for the extra stint before easter. (Apart from a personal trainninf course he'd signed up to,he also has a professional (re)training he has to do so as the company is paying almost €10k for it, they are insisting he go. (I think it's here, or else in the UK, so I can deal with that).

Meanwhile, I am struggling on. Work is only getting worse, and DD is soooo overtired it's causing problems. But we are getting through. And I have gotten through a few bottles of wine this time, but not every night. The only thing I'd prefer is getting more swimming in as I am putting on stones, not just pounds. I'm eating to counteract stuff (I tend to), and it's not good at the mo. Will get better though....

Aw crap ShelleBelle, forget about worrying about other people. Pull in your favours, you need to get sorted.

Pleasant weekend here, took the girls to the zoo today. And a neighbour took dd1 for a few hours yesterday while dd2 had a nap - I didn't know what to do with myself!!

Hi all,
Haven't been on here for a while and I hope you are all doing ok.

Hopefully the peace will return here after 2 weeks of illness, rushing dd3 to the docs twice in as many days covered in blisters. It is viral and she is on strong anti histamin now. Unfortunately I was the one to get the same blisters (very painfull) on my legs, so another trip to the gp...
Luckily he told me that we were not contagious anymore as dd1's confirmation was Saturday. I had to pick up my parents from the airport on Friday, only for them to arrive, but their case was sent to Glasgow. So they were without there outfits for the confirmation  .

Dd3 was minded by a friend and neighbour as she was to sick to come with us. I was happy I was wearing trousers as by this stage my legs looked like...spotted  ., my parents were in their travel clothes, but dd1 looked beautiful.
We had a great day and the case was delivered at 2.30, just after the church etc.

My parents left yesterday early morning, dd1 had her pics done in school and after that she went shopping with her friends in Blanch.

Dh left this morning again and I went to the orthodontist with dd1 and dd3 came with us ( she is still to sick for playschool). Well the problem with her eyeteeth not coming down is more severe then they tought and she is going to be refered to a dental specialist called p.j. Byrne. He is going to check if the eye teeth have a chance of coming down, by themselves,by cutting a "window" into the gum or another solution, well dd1 went into a nervous melt down, while I was thinking who is going to pay for this??? (i know bad mother :| ).

Dd2 (10) was picked for the senior school team (5th and 6th class )again (not even a sub, she is the full back ) and has a match tomorrow. She already had training at school today, doing her homework now and will have 1 1/2 hours training with the local gaa club tonight.. If dd3 is well enough we will go and watch tomorrow hopefully after that things will return to calm again..

Wishful thinking  I know..

ShelleB how are you now? hope you are ok & get sorted out, i'm sure even going to the GP to see and then you can arrange to go into hospital if need be when it suits (if it came to that) or would you try getting someone to sit with kids & go to a doctor on call after-hours just in case?

Aw Hilbart, that sounds like the plague you got, hope it all settles down, fair play to you it sounds like you all made the most of the day despite lost luggage & illness, hats off to you.

MissusS, that's one of "those" entrapment posts ... reel in the bait, sounds like a nutter anyways.

Well after that dose of cold or flu we are all back in land of the living TG ... I'm back on my multivits again.

Morning all, feeling a bit weepy today. Had booked a very impulsive flight to visit DH on Friday. My wonderful friend was with me and told me to look into it and that she would mind the kids - no arguing, just do it. So got a flight for a fairly reasonable price, booked the hotel, told DH, he was delighted. But then my poor friend was rushed to A&E with a racing heart and palpitations, so, so worried about her. I think she's coming home today, but no conclusive answers (which is also quite worrying).
Then I saw a man that has a history of 'interfering' with children (myself included) collecting two children and bringing them home as their mother can't drive at the minute. They are very vunerable children who do not have a happy home life and the hairs on my neck stood up. It bothered me all night and I called our PHN to report it. I had to tell her the history and she was shocked and will contact the social worker involved in that family's case. I just felt that they were easy prey for him. I was quite upset after that phone call and just feel a bit wobbly still. I'm terrified that it's opened up a can of worms, but I did do the right thing didn't I?
Really, really need to feel DH's arms around me right now.

Miss Velvet you did exactly the right thing.
Its tough going when something like that happens and you have no one to discuss it with.
Hope you are feeling better now.

DH finally made it home Sunday (and then he rang, literally 2 mins after flight was due to have arrived) checking "were we collecting him at all or is he getting the bus?" Cheeky bugger. His flight arrived 20 minutes early, and the bags were quick, while we were literally crossing the footbridge from the car park!!

Oh well, I only have to put up with him for 2 weeks before he heads off for another 2 weeks (was supposed to be after Easter). (Not sure am I happy or sad). There's too much going on at work, with DD, home stuff needing organising, etc. A girl at work died at the weekend so that funeral was this morning and I called into my gran for 20 mins on the way back to the office (yes, I DID do 2 hours before I went) and got DD a school uniform (non uniform school, she wanted to be "The Naughtiest Schoolgirl" for book day tomorrow). With all the retirements, there's a big bash on tonight, but DH had not paid attention when I told him before I booked and paid for my ticket - so I am here at home minding DD (who's cut knee turned septic so she's miserable) while he is doing his scubadiving course. So I am off for a shower now and a (semi) early night. And I had BETTER have a lie on at the weekend as he is now even going to miss Mother's Day, having missed Valentines and barely been here for our anniversary.

So how are we all doing girls???

Had serious talks with DH about what we are doing/ where we are going all last week.....it was tough & exhausting!

But on the upside it looks like I am in line for a really good promotion in work and I have only been there sine last October.....was so delighted with myself when the companies National Manager took me aside to say it to me!

Was exhausted by Friday so had a very lazy Saturday morning and then headed up to stay up in Malahide with my BEST friend, her sister babysat, and we went out for a dew drinks! Had a fantastic night but was SO tired today, so stayed with her for the morning chilling out with the kids and then came home.

Was a lovely relaxing weekend......

Hi girls havn't checked into this thread for ages. DP still working away mon-fri. 5 months into it now & we're finding our feet with routine and that. Its hard going & I do miss him so much during the week but feel lucky that he has work all the same. ds2 is only waking once a night now for quick bottle (long may it last) so thats making a big difference too. Its all go during the week & kept so busy but I find the week goes by really fast most of the time.
Hope everyone else is keeping well.

Missvelvet - how did your trip go??

SandraDee, congratulations on doing well on the job!

ShelleBelle, I saw your other thread - don't mind those one or two dopes!! You are doing do well.

We had DH again for the weekend, march is a good month for us - we have three weekends together after one in February. It was lovely but DD1 was much more upset this time at him leaving - it's getting to them :( . And nightmare of nightmares, when I went to pull out some toys of the shed on Thursday I saw a mouse run up the wall. I freaked just a little! DH cleaned it out yesterday - says there are loads of them , they got at the bird food stored there :( - so he told me to lay some traps tO catch them. I don't know if I can! And he is not back here until 23rd. Feckity feck - this is why I need a man!!

Oh Donnie, the trip was blissful

We just walked and ate and talked and held hands and really chilled out. Apologies if anyone is feeling nauseous, but just holding his hand made me feel like we were just starting out again.

It was so nice. Thanks all for your kind words regarding the situation last week, feeling a bit better about it.

Hope everyone else is doing well. x
