Does anyone know if smyths will exchange a toy for something else without a receipt. The kids got something that I know they will have little or no interest in so I think I'd prefer to exchange it for something they will use.

DH exchanged two gifts today (we had them already). No receipts and no problem. He said the queues to exchange were very long, so be ready to be there for a while!

This. You will only get store credit & if it's on something over €30 then it's at the discretion of the management to let you do it. For all they know you got it in Argos or free at the toy show.

They wouldn't let me on a 2 for €20 deal previously. They told me I'd need to bring both items back. I said I would be happy with €10 for it even though it retailed individually at €12.99 but they still wouldn't let me. It can depend on the person you get.

Any branch will be fine. Hope you're not waiting in line too long.
