Just a quick one for anyone interested.

We stayed @ Sequioa Lodge for 5 nights/6 days. We also booked Disney Express which was a great idea as we arrived @ 1pm & wouldn't of been able to check in till 3pm so it meant our luggage was taken from us & dropped to hotel & we got park tickets immed.

Hotel was lovely & just a 5min walk from village so an ideal location. Room was big (suitable for 2 adults & 1 child) and bathroom etc was spotless. Beds & towels changed every day. Breakfast was fine & not too busy, choice of foods was the same as previous hotel I've stayed in (Santa Fe) but it was less busy and a 7.30am slot meant that. We ate in Hunters Grill twice, its 1 of the hotel restaurants in the hotel and for buffet it was lovely, although if you are a veggie you're only choice would be dry pasta or cold cheese salads so be prepared to eat a lot of that or starve!

Thanks for that Meathmum. We are heading off on Tuesday....

Starting to get very excited now. Was it still fairly warm over there?

It was REALLY warm. Min 21degrees every day. Mornings were chilly but by late morning once the sun came out it was lovely. DD wore short sleeved tops each day as did OH & I and it was only once evening hit that we'd need a cardi etc but during the day fab.

Have a ball.

This is the weather site I used for before I travelled, gave me a better idea of weather movement for the local area.

Oooh, lovely thanks. Going by the weather on the iPhone, it's giving 25' for Monday!!

Would the kids be ok with light fleeces - easy to carry around if they get too warm. Were ye wearing long pants or short? I may dig out some 3/4 pants for DD. Wonder if we'll need shorts?

Gosh, really should have started thinking about this earlier! We were waiting on the Passport and was not getting excited until I knew we would have it on time. Picked it up this morning - yippee skips!

That would be fine clothes wise; even if it's not overly sunny it'll still be quite mild so light fleeces they can tie around waist should be fine.

Thanks for the report! What's the Disney Express? I was on a 6:20 flight last time & got my park passes immediately & my luggage minded anyway. Has this changed?

Trip Report - TomTom

Transfer -
http://www.ezyshuttle.com - €140 all in, private transfer. The TGV train was working out at €110 - so better to do the private transfer.
This worked out really well. Would defo do it again. The girl picking us up was great & John picked us up from taxi rank at the park (giving us extra time)!

Hotel -
http://www.expedia.com. Magic Circus, €250 - all in!! Pretty go deal, I think.
This hotel was 'ok'. Basic - but did the job. It was only the 3 of us - but would struggle with the size of the room if more/bigger kids. The brekkie was 'not great'. This is an 'alliance' hotel - so NOT a Disney one. Shuttles are a bit mental & we were there off peak.

Tickets -
Attraction Tickets Direct. Very easy service & best price by far.
Couldn't fault this. Discounted price. Delivered to the door.

We were really shocked at the standard of the food. The food in the park (fast-food) was the worst we've ever come across. It wasn't even as good as 'junk' food. DH threw our entire lunch in the bin on the 2nd day. The 'Earl of Sandwitch' (in Disney Village - a small group of shops & eateries as you enter the Parks) was probably the best place we ate. Worth the walk out.
We booked the 'Hunters Lodge' on the Monday night - buffet. Food 'ok' - but very like eating in a canteen. Didn't look around hotel as we were all wrecked.

John - from Ezyshuttle - does self-catering in the Disney area, and if we go back in the next year or so I would defo do that.
We had a great trip - but compared to Disney US - when you go 'into' DLP they 'have you'. You are very limited with where/what you can eat. The idea of having brekkie at home, making & bringing lunch & having dinner in a local restrant would be a far better option. You can get the local/public bus to the park as you own shuttle. Probably not half as busy.

I will add to this later.
Just too tired to think.....

ETA #1
None of this 'takes away' from the trip. Just stuff we noted.....

Did you go to hotel to drop luggage? Disney Express is where you drop luggage @ train station (we got TGV) and it's brought to hotel for you. We got our park passes @ train station. Then on last day we left luggage in hotel and it was transferred to station for us. I would think if you chose to get VEA it'd be grand but not having to drag luggage to hotel after an early start & a cranky 4yr old worked well for us.

In relation to food in DLP, and the Sequioa Lodge ds will be 18 months when we go, will it be awkward trying to get food suitable for him.

This sound like a stupid question when I read it back :stupid:

Not stupid at all!

TBH DS loved it. He's 7. But there is a huge mix of food & it's pretty ok. It's more the 'setting' that we didn't love. Basic.
DH liked the food also.

Enjoy!! :mickey:
