 came on here to see about dd2 and see you have written my post for me! Don't know if I am happier to see you are at the same stage (same age too 19 months) or that your dd has few words too! I always said I would potty train 2 and 3 as soon as they showed signs as I didn't with dd1 (dd2 was a month old and I was just too busy and stressed) and am still regretting it. I did train dd1 at 2 and had no issues with wees whatsoever but we are only making headway with poos on the toilet now at nearly 3.5! She started to have issues with the sensation of pooing before I started training and I should have nIpped it in the bud immediately. Lesson learnt but now I am stuck as dd2 has very few words. Did her wee on potty no trouble at all this evening and can make herself understood but I thought they needed better language to train. Maybe not? Can't wait to hear how you get on! I am a cloth nappy user and have three using nappies (dd1 at night although was dry last night
) so happy to see a reduction in users!!
Hi Lisa I have been in full on toilet training mode all week & it is going well I think. I originally posted this at the end of August & I had intented to try at the start of september but I didn't in the end up. With all the rain & 1 metre of clothes in the utility I couldn't face it! She is in cloth too. DD's speech has expolded all of a sudden since though-you lo will probably do the same.
We haven't left the house since tuesday & she has been doing really well. She will go to the potty, poo & pee no problem. I can't see her ever telling me she needs to go though iykwim? I'm going to stick at it this time though. I believe they are better off being trained earlier as they get more defiant later. I know alot of people don't agree though.
Good luck-I think your lo sounds the same as dd & tbh I could have done this earlier even before her speech explosion as the talking hasnt actually added anything! She does it all herself without talking.
