I lost 9lbs on it but gave it up on Day 14.. (Easter Bank Holiday weekend was a step too far)...

I would recommend it... its easy to do once you get in your groove and the results are fast...
I am not following it at the moment but I still have my hot water and lemon each morning, no fruit after 2 pm, and drink green tea... also not eating processed/starchy carbs at all (bar an occasional spud at the weekend) and am losing 2lb-3lb a week or so....with no effort...

no matter what diet you look at.. in my experience, the only way to lose weight is to cut out the carbs...

Is there a book that you can buy for this?

Sadie - did you cut out ALL carbs or just the rices, pastas, potatoes, breads, cereals etc that are high in carbs?

Thanks for the replies....... I got the book and I'm on day three now. I know its early days but its going well so far. I'm finding it pretty easy even though I will be eating a lot of the same foods for the next 14 days. I'll keep ye posted after the first 17 days and let you know how much I lost.

I cut out all the starchy carbs (rice/pasta/bread/spuds) but still ate fruit and veg (but no fruit after 2pm!).

Ok so I'm finished the first 17 days and I'm down 10Lbs :bigups:

The first cycle you are basically allowed eat the following:

Plenty of Chicken, Turkey (breast or mince not sausage) and Fish (not seafood)
Unlimited veg from the list they have (most veg but not sweet potato/ parsnips/peas or any pulses or lentils)
2 portions of fruit from the list (apples pears red grapes berries) has to be eaten before 2pm
2 portions of probiotic (0%fat yogurt, greek yoghurt, no fat cottage cheese)
2 servings of friendly fats (balsamic, olive oil) 1 tablespoon = 1 serving

It is very limited and I ended up eating a lot of the same thing but at least you know that there is for 17 days and then you will be allowed more things. I lived on stir fries and salads for lunch and dinner and had my 2 servings of fruit and a yogurt for breakfast.

The 2nd cycle I'm starting today I will be able to have small portions of carbs like porridge, cous cous, basmati rice (but before 2pm) and I can add in beef and pork and seafood. I don't have the book to hand but i'll post put the rest shortly.

Interesting. Sounds doable enough.
Why no fruit after 2pm?
What's the 2pm rule?

Fruit is a carb and no carbs allowed after 2pm.

Doing something similar to this that DH devised based on various low carb/fat burning diets. Turns out what we are doing is very very similar to this. Might get the book as I am concerned about the weight piling back on after the initial phase.
I'm finding it fine so far, eating probably more than I would have previously and trying to have about 6 small meals each day. Feel much better myself, I know certain carbs just dont agree with me at all and they go straight to my jelly belly!!
Its early days but down 3 lbs since starting on Wednesday. Have lost about a stone over the last few months just by exercise and healthy eating but the loss has really stalled and finding it difficult to shift the last 7-10 lbs so hoping this will be a good kick start.
Looking forward to hearing how you find the next 17 days MrsQC.

this diet is in the mirror magazine today for anyone interested in doing it. It tells you what you can have and whats restricted. Also give sample 7 day eating plan. Im going to start tomorrow. Have lost 2stone with ww but have hit a plateau so this may be what i need to get going again. Its quite similar to ww and everything used in the meal plans are items you would eat on the ww plan eg skinless chicken breast and salad and lots of veg. No tea or coffee green tea only. Wish me luck!

Good luck Darlea, keep us posted how you get on. You are allowed coffee though (i take decaff anyway cause i get palpitations from caffiene) but no milk or sugar obviously and 8 x 8oz glasses of water a day.

Am interested too. Have lost 18lbs since January but it seems to have plateaued. Am doing pro points, shredding (though only on level 1), and walking at night.
