As above both have chest issues so both got last year but I didn't and was fine. I am heavily pregnant and have a bad case of something cold probably but do they need this year again and would I need it as I am nearly 30'weeks pregnant

I just started a thread about same topic.
DF was vaccinated last year and when he went to get vaccinated today the nurse told him he didn't need to be done again as last yhears one gave him immunity. He works in a Hospital IT dept. He doesn't have and respiratory issues but DD does and she was done last year too, as was I

If they are not high risk then they are covered by last years jab. My 2 boys got it again today as they have asthma but you also now get the regular flu jab in with the swine flu one so it's a single injection.

I'd imagine you probably should get it as they are recommending woman who are pregnant women and up to 6 weeks after birth to get it.

They do need it As do you-I'm presuming when you say they got the vaccine last year you are talking about end of 2009/beg 2010?? It lasts for a year only.It is included in the seasonal flu vaccine too this year,as you are Pg you also NEED it -it will protect babs for first 3 months of life too....So really adviseable.
Everyone who falls into the high risk category NEEDS it every year. So thats people who have chronic illness,Pregnant,6 wks after having a baby,Immuno-suppressed and over 65 years of age.

I'm really starting to worry here,my dd has CF and we were told it'd cover her for 15 years. The only thing she's had is the normal flu jab. Normally her CF team inform us of any changes.

GMG as far as I know the normal flu jab this year includes the swine flu jab.

I was told the same though by my GP, that if you had the swine flu jab last year you did not need it again.
Most pregnant women didn't get it last year as they were not high risk and a lot did not bother then and that is why they need it.

We couldn't have got it anyway as they had not enough supplies but he told me we did not need it (eventhough I never had the vaccination last year and take medicine that effects my immune system, but have a cold so can not get it).

The normal flu jab this year does include the Swine Flu jab.
DD & I had the vaccinations last January for SF (after I had it) as we are high risk. GP advised us to have it again this year. Seems to be conflicting advice on it. Apparently supplies in the UK are low for the vaccine, not sure about here.
