The norm on the Grocery Challenge is just what you spend on the groceries more so then the other household bills / presents, but if you want to include those expenses you may need to rethink the budget you set yourself

Some have included petrol/pet food

Tesco - €8.75. Very proud of myself, normally when I drop into Tesco mid-week to get milk I end up seeing loads of "bargains" and piling them into the trolley. But yest I was very focused, needed milk, yoghurts and somethijng for the dinner, and thats exactly what I bought!

Well had to go to Tesco and Aldi yesterday although I did get a slab of heiniken for Xmas and also spent €16.95 in Chemist. Got to really plan carefully now for the rest of the month to stay within Budget. How do I go to Tesco for potatoes spend €63.00 and come home with NO potatoes??? Need some of your focus Working Mum

Will need to go somewhere today as out of yogurt / lunchbox stuff for the week. Can't believe I spent so much in that new TESCO during the week and still have to shop today --- now I know why I prefer shops that I am familiar with the layout of. Think from now on I will stick to ALDI and my local SuperValu and not be lured by gimmicky money off vouchers where you have to spend a certain amount before they are any good.....

Have to say I am much more focused this month, I think the harsh reality of my first month last month and how much I actually spend on groceries has hit me! I am well under budget for thr month so far.

Agree with Alexsmum - will be rethinking the monthly budget after 07 December.

Went to tesco to get bread, yoghurts and sandwich bags fob DS and ended up getting few more things. It's new for me to try to stick to a plan, we will see how it goes. The add ons I got were - wet whipes, tilda basmati wholegrain rice (DH got white in error, it's nice but I am really use to eating wholegrain) and Donegal Catch on deal, so the only extra that we don't really need was the rice. (we now have 4 types of rice)

This challenge has taught me a lot - Before I did this, I really had no idea how much I spent on Groceries. I knew it wasn't a huge amount but really didn't know exactly how much. Will definitely continue with this.

I have also realised that the fact that my 2yr old can open the fridge door now is no help to my budget :biggrin:

5.79 for Mozarella and Parmegiano in Tesco (will be making aubergines parmegiana). A bit of to buy or not to buy debate, babybells light got put back! I think the worse thing in our shopping habbits is not planning, and allot of food goes in the bin. I just end up buying random things, that we may feel or not feel like it and then when I try to put meal together I don't have all ingredients. Anyway, I am cheese addict but we already had few types of cheese in the fridge from SQ last weekend- so the babybells will wait until the cheese we have is over. 130 euro left for shopping this weekend.
