Anyone know a dentist??
My DD who is almost 7 recently lost her lower lateral incisor and I have just discovered her permanent one is already through the gum, is quite far back in the gum and really crooked :dontgetit: Dont really know what to do, should I bring her to a dentist or will it correct itself?? Is there anything that can be done anyway??
Any advice??

She should be visiting a dentist now for check ups anyway. Don't think they do anything until all the teeth are through or even later when the jaw is more formed but if it's really misplaced they might. Worth going anyway to get her used to the dentist.

My DS is 5 and announced last week that he has a new tooth - I nearly died, none of the baby ones were loose. Looked into his mouth and there it was, way back in the gum. It is one of the front bottom teeth.

Brought him to my own dentist - He figured that it is a bit early for it to have come through and that if the baby one hasn't fallen out in 2 months that they will have to pull it. He said that the tongue will push it forward into place.

He did say that his mouth is going to be very crowded and that it is inevitable that he will need orthodontic work when he is older.

I am so disappointed as he has the most gorgeous straight white teeth !! According to the dentist, they are too close together now and therefore there won't be enough space for the adult teeth

Don't get me started, I've just had war with the dentist about DD1's teeth. 2 of them were up before the others the baby ones fell out and are now reallt far back in her mouth. So much so that she has now worn away a full section of one of the teeth (it looks like it was chipped off but dentist could show me the track of where she had just worn it away)

He said there is nothing he can do, I can't afford private dental care for her and he won't refer her until her next assessment - in 6th class!!!!! At that stage, the damage will be so bad they won't be able to repair it and she will need to get a cap put on the tooth thats being worn away. She'll need braces but again they won't be assessed until she's in 6th class at that stage she'll be put on a waiting list and by the the time she's at the top of the list she'll be too old to be seen under the hse scheme!

DS3 has a crocked front tooth and has been seen by the school dentist, she said he has overcrowding also but can not be referred until all his adult teeth are through
I have started saving!!!
