Try to treat others with the same respect you expect from them - do not forget that there are real people behind usernames.

Do not post anything you know to be false, defamatory, obscene, racist, offensive, hurtful or invasive of a persons privacy. While debating and discussion is fine, rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts will not be tolerated.

Please do not give links to sites which may be illegal, of a pornographic nature or otherwise objectionable.

Do try and post new topics in the relevant sub-forum. If you have a topic that does not fit into any of the existing categories please post it in the Anything but Babies forum.

No multiple postings please - do not post the same topic in different sub-fora.

Please try to keep signatures reasonable (length and size) out of respect for other users so I won't be obliged to disactivate the signatures/pics altogether.

Having more than one username is permitted in certain cases, for example for posting on sensitive issues or in a pregnancy club etc. Having more than one username is not permitted if it is misused and abusive of other users. Do not use a second username to agree with yourself for example or use multiple usernames in order to cause havoc.

Private messages are PRIVATE - do not publish private messages on the forum.

Do not use the PM facility to advertise/spam other members.

Each individual is responsible for what they write.

No content from MagicMum.com can be copied, printed or distributed by any mechanism at any time without the express permission of the administrator. Anything posted to these forums becomes the property of the forum owners.



Rules on Advertising

No advertising for commerical websites or businesses is allowed.

Only paid advertisers on the site may advertise by posting new topics but I would ask you to please keep all advertising to the Products Corner. The same rule applies when replying to a thread - only paid advertisers may advertise their own business this way.

Do not use the PM facility to advertise/spam other members.

I would ask all non-paying advertisers to refrain from replying to threads to promote your own business - these posts will be deleted.

When site members advise or recommend a business website I would ask that you make it clear if you have any connection to that business - know the owner etc.

Advertising links/text/images etc in Signatures/usernames etc is not permitted and will be removed.



Advice for members

Do not post email addresses in the forum. Internet pages are constantly scanned and email addresses then become targets for spam.
If someone wants to contact you they can use the private messaging facility.

All personal information (telephone no etc) should be communicated by PM.

For your personal sites/blogs, if you fill out the website in your profile, other users can visit it by clicking on the 'www' button on the bottom of your signature.

their aren't any other than Maryb afaik

I am the moderator on the board. Also NewMrs has moderating powers in all sections. And Biddypat in the Oddies section.

But, and I think this may be the issue - just because something isn't moderated as you would like etc doesn't mean that it is not iykwim. Most moderation here happens in the background.

Thanks for the clarification, can I also ask what is the procedure that is followed when posts are reported? is there a standard or is it up to the discretion of the moderator what steps should follow?

I was typing a similar query earlier when the boards became unavailable.
