I forgot to ask the dentist this, so just wondering - Do you floss ...
After you've brushed your teeth, but before you use a mouth-wash? Or should you floss before you brush (although doesn't make sense to me). Or do you use mouth-wash, and then floss?

Anyone know?

I brush then floss. I don't use mouthwash. I only floss at night.

Always floss before brushing, rinse away the bits, they brush teeth, followed by mouthwash.
I floss every night and use interdental brushes in the morning.

I usually floss after brushing and before mouthwash, but I don't floss every day, just every few days when I remember!

Same here, depends on whether there is someone screaming to use the loo.

dentist told me to always floss first - this loosens up any food bits that are stuck - and the brushing will then remove them and then mouthwash - i only floss about every second day -

I floss after I brush, every night. But have often wondered if I should floss first.

I floss before brushing - every evening. Never use mouthwash.

I was wondering what a dentist might say.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like anyway seems to be fine... Now, must remember to floss ....

I brush, floss, rinse again then use mouthwash but oops, seems I've been doing it wrong! I thought brushing after flossing would push food back into the gaps :stupid:

After seeing that everyone does something different, I decided to ring the dental hygenist I was at this morning. She was unavailable, but the receptionist asked a dental nurse there, who said that you should brush, then floss, then rinse. The receptionist said what she did was brush, floss, light brush again, rinse.

But as is always the case ... if you have the time and remember! (for the flossing!)

What do you use to floss? I used to use the reel of waxed thread but disliked the fiddliness of it and therefore didn't use it often enough. I now use "Plackers" and find them good. I've read about electronic water-jet gadgets that do something similar. Has anyone tried them?
