Hi there

TT'ing my almost 3 year old. Yesterday went well - 4 wees, 2 accidents (one was a loose stool as I think he had the end of a tummy bug) so all in all he did great.

Pullups on last night, woke this morning, pull up off at 7.30am, sat him on the potty and he did a wee, all delighted with himself. Nothing since then and it's 4 hours later.

I've sat him on the potty at least every hour since then and nothing, he keeps saying he doesn't have wees. What do I do? I assume it's still too early for him to know whether he has to go or not or do I just stop plaguing him and leave him decide himself? I just feel I'm constantly on his case the last couple of days and I'm driving him mad.

Oh and he's had a bit to drink already this morning so he must need the loo.

Thanks

He just did one there at 12.30pm - should I be concerned he didn't go for 5 hours? it's only day 2..

No, I wouldn't worry too much. Encourage plenty of drinks and offer the loo every hour, don't be afraid to bribe, smarties were my friend when dd was daytime training

It amazes me how long DD can hold a wee for, she seems to be able to hold for hours and hours even when she has had a drink.
If he is saying he doesnt have a wee after an hour, then I would leave him and try again the next hour. He will get fed up very quickly if he is on and off the potty every hour. Ask every hour but dont put him on the potty every hour. He should know when he wants to go to some extent, he is telling you that he doesnt need to go and then doesnt have a wee so that would indicate that he is aware that there is no wee there and knows what is expected.

Keep doing what you are doing and it wont be long before he is telling you whe he has a wee.

7 days after starting to TT DS we ook the 3 hour trip to our in laws in Tralee and he didnt need to wee once, despite me wrecking everyones head asking him every 20 mins if he has a wee wee coming!

Thanks girls.

I eased off him a bit after that wee and he had 3 more in the afternoon and no accidents. He had a poo in his pants there a little while ago but he's doing brilliant, can't believe how well he is doing. Hopefully it continues.
