Whether he or she wants to see FAF or not, especially if they never really had much of a parent/child relationship and there has been no contact whatsoever for many years? FAF very much an unsavoury character and this has been well documented in previous court hearings, it has prevously been established that he cannot have unsupervised access

Do you mean considered old enough by a court? Or in general? I dont know what the court would think.

DS/DD see their dad once a week at the weekends. Over the past year DS has said sometimes he doesnt want to go, and thats been fine with me. But thats different to your situation.

They say for the purposes of adoption, that once the child is 7, they take the childs view into consideration.

I asked a solr about the age recently (re access) and she said it is down to a judge at what age they listen to a child.

DD1 is 6 and syas she no longer wants to overnight - says she'll see him during the day but he won't have that, he wants overnights - I am not sure how to deal with this. Solr advsie dto follow what dd wants.

Its a tough one, not the same circumstances as you but hope it helps a bit.

13 years ago my mam divorced my dad. He was also very unsavoury. The court allowed myself and my sister decide what, if any access we wanted. We were 13 and 10.

In court it would depend on the maturity of the child, legislation and precedents say that their views will be taken into account as much as reasonably possible. In my experience it's usually about 7/8 years of age.
