so obviously i am unable to say no to any sad, sorry stray stories. (i now accecpt that i should of been called frances, after assissy.)

since my last post regarding the abandoned kitten who is shortly going to his new mm forever home, well this morning my fil walked in the door with a the saddest pathetic soggy scrap of a kitten, he/she (i think) is probably a sibling of the one i rescued, but he/she was soaked to the skin, and has really heavy cold, and sore eyes. now underneath that its the friendliest little thing, and purred through the stuffy nose.

i tried my best to tidy him up and get him to take some milk from a dropper. its now in a box in the garage.

thing is dh is going to kill me when he realises. so before i ring the ispcaa to see if they will take it, im wondering is anyone looking for a kitten? it is black with a good bit of white, and definately long haired (even through the drowned mess you could see this) it is no more than 7 weeks. now if someone is interested i will get it back to full health before passing it on, (if this is possible, i will get it to the vet first)

if no one is interested im going to have to see can the cats protection take it, as i will be turfed out of home with the kitten when dh comes home!!!

I can't help you with the kitten or even re-homing it, but I just want to say an out of the bottom of my heart thank you for going through all this trouble to take in that little kitten and getting it back to health :A:

Did you try your local vet ? Ours sometimes takes in kittens to re-home, and that's how we got one of ours

That's lovely! All our pets have been strays. Am currently feeding a clutch of them. Good luck with eyes, it's a bitch to get under control.

ah shuck girl, thanks for the lovely comments

little update on the little fella. brought him to the vets, and he has the start of cat flu, a chest infection, conjuntivitus from the flu, ear mites and cat lice! and he is still purring. he is now on eye drops, ear drops, steriods and antibiotics. vet seemed to think though he was obviously very sick he had lots of life in him, so we should give him a chance.

i have had a few pms regarding him, so hopefully once i get him back to full health some lovely mm will give him his new home.

he is too bad at the min to take a pic of, but as soon as his eyes clear a bit ill post up one.

god, im struggleing on this one, had him back at the vets yesterday as the eyes are not getting any better, one is totaly closed, and there are sores on his face around them, we got a second antibiotic, and different eye drops. the vet thought he was actually blind, but he was able to get around, and go from foot to foot to get attention, so we said we would give him another while to come round. its just a struggle when i cant see any improvement. im really at a loss this time

Oh dear. That doesn't sound good. Poor little thing. At least he's getting the love now - whatever the future holds...Did the vet think he may need to be put down?

You're so good for looking after him and I wish there were more kind hearted people like you in the world.

Aswell as using the antibiotic drops it might be worth cleaning all the gunk away from his eyes, using a cooled boiled water and salt solution. Use a clean piece of cotton wool every time you wipe.

I hope he makes it.

I did that with a kitten with bad eyes, as I was telling you I think. It can be difficult to get the gunk off. I ended up helping the mum do he cleaning!

I really hope he recovers, we're all thinking of you little fella :inlove:
