I have to keep my dog muzzled but she hates it. Every day it's on her she cuts her nose trying to get it off. This is the second muzzle I've tried cos she did the same with the first one. Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is to try and feed her treats while muzzled and lots of praise when she's quiet with it on. All her favourites so she links it with nice things. You don't even have to be doing for a walk just keep putting it on, give the treats then take it off. Start for short periods of time (literally minutes) and then lenghten the time. You don't want to wait till she is panicking.

Thanks a mill I'll try that. We have to keep her muzzled as soon as we let her out of the pen, we both love her so much but running out of patience with her trying to go at people, they can be welcomed into our house but as soon as they get past a certain point in the garden she goes at them

Are you kidding? what breed is she? I thought you needed to muzzle her just for walks but if it's an ongoing thing in the house then I'd be looking at talking not to a dog trainer but to a dog behaviourist.

Dalmatian. I haven't a clue what to do with her. She's the best dog in the world with us and so so good, but she keeps doing it. We contacted the breeder to try ask in a roundabout way are the dogs parents the same (when we went to pick her up the mother did much the same but I put it down to protecting her pup). Breeder said no she hadn't heard of problems with her other pups

Course that's what they said. If you pm me where you are based I can try and find you a good behaviourist. It will get to a stage where she will seriously harm someone. In the meantime leave her in her crate when people are over. Give her a treat and make sure she has water and needs for nothing while they are there. It's much safer than what is happening right now.
