How much help would be nice after a section?

SIL sectioned fri, hubbie going back to work and she may not have anyone to stay/help for the first few days.

How mobile or independant will she be?

Will she be uncomfortable lifting baby?

Thx

As long as she does nothing but feed baby, eat and sleep she'll be fine. Lifting baby shouldn't be a problem.

what would be lovely would be if you dropped in some nice lunches and/or dinners that would help her just to focus on baby and theredose her recovery.

I have had three sections and people bringing me meals which only had to be re heated would have been very welcome (if you are looking for a way to help!).

She won't be able to drive so she'll need help with that. Other than that it's possible to do everything else. I was in hospital for 5 days after a section. I arrived home on the evening of the fifth day and DH went back to work the next morning (I also had a 2.5 year old to look after). I managed fine. Not saying the house was tidy or that it was a walk in the park, but we had no choice and I survived :). Due baby number 3 and I'd say it will be the same this time around, except I'll have 3 to look after instead of 2 :lookround:

Lifting baby should be ok . Getting in and out of bed not the easiest in the first few days . Will someone be cooking for her ? When I had my cs I organised a cleaner for 3 hrs every thurs for 6 weeks and it was a lifesaver for me .

I'm too far away to call which is a pity. She is being very independant.

Her sister is going to call down for a few days later next week.

Hubbie works nice hours so they are lucky that way.

Thx for the replies.
