Right - I'm in serious nesting mode and am looking at getting some painting done. The thing is I'm looking at my sitting room and debating changing the wallpaper. I have wallpaper on the chimney wall (no chimney breast, its a straight wall) ... I have the rest of the room painted cream and the wallpaper is cream with black and cream modernish type flowers. I have a cream mirror (brand new) and black leather suite and heres the catch - black silk curtains that cost a lot 4 years ago so I really don't want to go changing them or it will def end in divorce. So I've been looking online and I have a 'thing' about maybe papering the same wall again but with a cream wallpaper with the design built into it (kind of like damask design but flat).
I've found these and really need opinions or other suggestions please:

I am sooooo stuck - I just can't visualise it ... I'd love a kind of classy / hotel look but don't want anything too awful fussy that will drive me nust after a while. I actually don't mind the paper thats up now and its not in too bad condition at all but if I found something I love I'd change it .... god I can't get my head around it at all

We have this on the fireplace and a feature wall. http://www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk/produc ... rail/74587. We have it in the black flowers but there is cream and beige going through it, We have a tan coloured suite and black furniture and light fittings. Would you not get a paper with bit of black in it to tie into the curtains.

I have this in my sitting room and love it. The color of the trees will match the other cream walls and it's a bit different (I think).

I liked the first one. It was more eyecatching than the others.

I really liked the Barbara Hulanicki (1st one) too but found it on wallpapersdirect and it looks very different - more cream and brown than cream and silver so think it mightn't go .... see here: http://www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk/produc ... diva/63696

Have looked and looked for something with black in it but most of them are too fussy or very like what I have so would be as well sticking with whats up already (and I may end up doing that if this wrecks my head much more )

CaraD - I like that one! Is it very white though? And are the trees different colours?? Would love to find it done in a room so I could see an overall picture with it.

I feel bad saying this but I'm not mad about any of those three. Maybe the second one but the first one I think you would get sick of it very quickly.

The one I posted a link to is an off white background with the trees a sort of cream metallic so they pick up on the other colors in the room. I have it in my sitting room with a brown/grey (see below pic) and in my bedroom I have the same wallpaper but in a damask pattern on all the walls (see other pic)

I would highly recommend you go into Laura Ashley in Blanchardstown to look at the wallpaper as they are always having half price sales and they are lovely wallpapers. They have a few displays done including one with the walloper with the trees.
