Just Wondering - 3:30a.m. and enjoying  my private time with our little darling (17 Wks, 4 Wks corrected).

When did your preemie sleep through? Is it earlier or later in corrected weeks than other babies?

Thanks,

JB

Hi jellybaby, don't even ask why I'M up, but I can assure you it doesn't involve any babies being awake

The twins slept through earlier than my older 2, Fiach from about 6wks (actuall age), Aobha from about 3mths (actual age) but started waking again at around 9mths when she strted teething, but definitely earlier than my 2 older girls who were around 14 and 18mths when they slept through. Don't worry that she's still waking at this stage, it's very early days yet and because of being so prem she quite possibly does still need to be fed at night.

Thanks Beanie - Are you sure you're not stalking me??!!!  Everytime I have a question, you're right there with the answer, and btw I had checked - there were no other registered users on at the same time as me at 3:45am - So how come you pop-up at 4:00 - cant be coincidence - getting scary - think I'm going to have to ask for references

I posted because Amelie seemed to have gone from a voracious middle of the night feeder to showing a little less interest and nodding off from time to time and finally conking out about 80% through the feed - and taking much longer from start to finish - leaving me time to slip in a one handed post. Just wondered was it an indication of things to come and
BTW I'm not worried at all - I got over that after about 72 Hours back in Feb.(around the time of my original post!) I leave mum to do all the worrying now!!!!! I reckon that Amelie is tough as nuts - just a very small nut :)

Thanks

JB

if im remembering correctly, i think the boys were about 3 months when they did it.
and they were 6 weeks prem, so that would make their corrected age 6 weeks.

they were born at the start of sept and i know they were mostly going through the night by xmas.

Hi Jellybaby,

My little madam, still isn't sleeping through, the best we get is 12 midnight to 5/5.30am. :baby:

She is now 5months 10 days old( 2 months 3 days corrected), my DH and I are absolutely wrecked. She is a good baby but not sleeping is taking its toll.
:bangin:

I hope to god she starts sleeping a bit better soon!!!!

Not yet!!! 5 weeks premature 13 months old tomorrow and still not sleeping through. To be fair they started sleeping through the night at 3 months actual age and then got there 1st teeth a month later and haven't slept through since. They take turns to wake up week on /weekoff just like shift work. :D
They don't get fed at night but the wake up, cry, I go in and lie them down and they go back to sleep.

Gosh Claire, that's tough not having an unbroken night for 10mths. TG Aobha finally started to sleep through about a fortnight ago after waking every night since she started teething at 9mths. I used to get up and feed her, then stopped getting up but took her into the bed where she'd settle quickly and about a month ago I started settling her in the cot and finally once she started taking a soother for me she started sleeping through. It sounds like you're taking a consistent approach (which is better than how I handled it) and it willl only be a matter of time.

my DD is 12 wks but was 3wks early and has been sleeping from 8pm to 7.30am for almost 2wks now. She had been dreamfeeding at 12am, but she cut that our last week completely. It could all go pearshaped when she starts teething though!

My ds was 6 weeks early and starting sleeping thru at about 14 weeks 8weeks corrected...he slept an awful lot in those first 6 weeks, I couldnt wake him for feed. I had to strip him and have wet cotton wool on his feet to wake him.

He got his first tooth at 16weeks (10 weeks corrected) and slept his way thru it. Has only woken a handful of times since :D
