All my others went to a creche or were minded as I worked full time, have been at home a lot with DD3. She is intensely needy of my attention all the time, she has to stand beside me or sit on me, wants to talk to me all the time, insists that only I do things for her and so on. Her most recent thing is saying she needs to go to the toilet so I have to drop what I am doing and she may not need to go but have to make sure.
Am thinking I should send her to playschool to get her less needy. Anyone had this with a toddler and what helped?

Probably not what you want to hear but I feel if it's a need then she needs it, it's not just a want. It's just a phase and while it might drive you insane it will end. All of my kids went through this, they were all firmly attached to me. I don't know if playschool will stop her being needy, do you bring her to toddler groups etc to socialise with other children during the day, it might make the day feel shorter if both of you have stuff outside of home to do.

Been there and its a nightmare. My last missy was the 1st to have me home as a SAHM from the age of 2yrs and my god she made the most of it.

I found playschool did the trick, I sent her at 2 & 9months for this reason and we never looked back since. I needed a few hrs to recharge before she would come home and it was full on again.
We have a party going on here right now, but guess what............... she is here beside me feeding me popcorn but I can handle it as she was in playschool today.

DS will be heading to a creche for one day a week soon. Sounds a luxury but for my mental health I need some me time, which I don't get right now due to be torn between my childern and my sick father.
