so girls i'm back to the forum!!
as you migth have read from the SW thread, i'm pregnant!

its great news, am delighted, but previous pregnancies make me think i really am eating for two! i put on huge amounts of weight.

so anyway, while i'm not going to go to weigh in's anymore, i am going to TRY to stick to the SW plan. to be honest i never ate healthily on my pregnancies, so if i stick to SW, i'll be getting great food/nutrition into my body

since i got my BFP, i totally went on the rampage  - back to old habits, and put on a lot of pounds in the last four weeks  - so girls i need your help to keep me on track and away from the fridge/presses etc etc

i also read minimims forum too. a lady there lost 9 STONE while pregnant!!!!!!!!!!

congratulations on your pregnancy!

you should ask the SW leader as I think there is a separate book for following the plan when pregnant - I don't know a lot about it but I think you get additional HE allowances.

I remember at the one and only class I did attend there was a girl there who was pregnant and still following the plan. she didn't go to the class every week but I remember the leader saying to the others who help out with the payments that she was not to be charged for missed weeks as the agreement was she could skip in and out of classes when she wanted

Hi babymakes3

Congrats on your news, thats fantastic.

I've recently had my 2nd baby(ds, 12weeks today in fact) throughout my pregnancy I attended SW class git weight and stayed to image therapy. Hand on heart I have to say it was the best thing I could of done. Whilst I regained all the weight is lost, it was in a healthy manner. After giving birth I went back to group the followig week, ds was 6 days old and I'd lost 1.5 stone
SW is your defo best bet to ensure your eating healthily for you and your baby. If ya would like more info ya can pm me.

I was going to post about a girl in my SW group but she has just posted above me.

What she didn't say was that she looked amazing, a walking advert for anyone who wants to eat a well balanced diet, yes she had her gains but in a very very healthy way, if you looked at her from behind you would have never guessed she was due a baby. And 14 weeks later is looking fanastic.

I've just discovered I'm pregnant too and I'm overweight and desperate to not gain ridiculous amounts of weight this time. I can't get to a SW meeting but have borrowed the books and I'm trying to get my head around it all at the moment. Can anyone confirm if I need to eat a further Healthy extra allowance? The whole syns thing has me boggled but I'm sure I'll get the hang of it.

Ahhh babymakes3.........ok 1st of all breath
You body is working day and night to bake a beautiful creation, what ever it is your craving, that's what your body needs. Remember potatoes ans pasta are FREE FOODS, so fill your boots with them. Regards your craving for chocolate and bread. You have an additional hxb so that's giving you 4 slices of bread a day, as for the chocolate, that's what your syns are there for hun. These cravings will pass. Give yourself a break. If ya want to you can pm me also.

To Yeahbutnobut,

1stly, congratulations in your pregnancy you do get additional healthy extras. You can now have in total 2 healthy extra a's and 2 healthy extra b's ya don't have to have them if you don't want them, but they are there if you need them.

Hope this helps girls

Colly xx

I was pg this time last year and sick as a dog but I remember the carbs were the only thing too to make life any easier!!

If you cant stomach much in the morning, have you hexb as toast with maybe a banana or apple sliced on top. If your working and have a microwave available to you try a baked potato with baked beans and maybe some cold grapes from the fridge. It's not easy being so sick or hungry but SW will def help you both along the way, and we will too xx

Do you know how quickly after birth you can rejoin?

I stopped going when I got my bfp - with the nausea I couldn't have followed the plan....and then I just plain fell off the wagon altogether.

I put on stacks of weight on maternity leave first time around, had only just discovered SW and was nearly back at my old weight when I got preggo again. Determined to spend my second ML being fit healthy and thin - want to go back to SW ASAP.

WW make you wait 6 weeks. Is there no time limit at SW?

I rang SW at 4 weeks and they told me it was better to wait til 6 before joining, they don't ask for proof iykwim but I decided better to wait. I was joining as a first timer, might be different for you, give them a buzz and see what they say

I am ballooning at an enormous rate, in pure panic mode now. :( I feel constantly nauseous and the only thing that stops it is eating. All. The. Time. I worked so bloody hard to lost a lot of weight last year and seeing it go back on so quickly is really getting me down.

Ah yeahbutnobut, dont be stressing babe.
Your not gaining weight hun, your gaining baby. You're making a beautiful creating so whatever your body needs, is what it needs. If you find your "grazing" fir want of a better word, try reaching for superfree 1st. But do remember you have 2 healthy extra b's so if you need the bread you can have it guilt free. A hreat tool i foikd was having melon cut up in a bowl at all times.

How far gone are you YBNB? If you are in the first trimester and suffering from morning sickness, I certainly found there was no point fighting it and just reached for the carbs/cakes if that was all I could stomach. A plate of super free fruit would have had me retching before 16 weeks.

From 16 weeks onwards the nausea (and the constant stream of cakes and carbs needed to stave off teh nausea) will have passed and you can get back on track eating healthy.

If you are wondering whether you are gaining baby or blubber I found the pregnancy weight gain apps great. They let you know whether you are within a healthy weight gain for your stage of pregnancy.

Ah get yourself back to group hun, do a rejoin. believe it or not, this is why your hungry, i kinda fell off plan there for a couple of weeks and i've been STARVIN!!!!!!!!!!!! haven't been hungry in 2 years and now suddenly i'm ravenious. The new member talk really gave me the bunt up that i needed to get back on track.

when you're not focused you don't tend to eat right adn will skip meals, when you're expecting, ya just can't do that. your consultant isn't looking for you to be losing weight, but to me eating healthy for you and that precious lil bundle. I know you're paying to see your weight increase. but it's not proper weight gain, it's baby and all the stuff that goes with that.

ya poor thing, ya shouldn't be starvin at all.

How i manage is that i eat the foods that i would have normally ate on the plan, maybe less portions as the baby grows. if i want something additional or that's high in syns. i have it. then it's done and the longing is out of my system. Be kind to yourself, as i said before, you're body is busy making something very beautiful so you need to fuel it to keep working away lol
