Anyone have any comments on the above wines from Lidl?

Both are on offer at the moment, 6 bottles for the price of 4. Ive googled online and they get good enough comments & seem to have won awards for the 2010 year but wondered if any magicmums would recommend them?

Also, is there a difference in taste in the year the wine is bottled. Advertised in the fliers are 2010 bottles but when you go into the store today they are selling 2011 bottles in the cases which Im not sure would taste the same. Do Lidl have to honour what is shown in their fliers especially if the wine tastes better?

Thanks

I liked the Cabernet Savingnon but thought the Savignon Blanc was awful.
I would be a lot fussier about white wine though so perhaps it's just me.

I've had the Sauv Blanc a few times and it's ok. Not the best wine I've ever drank but it's fine. Aldi do much much nicer Sauvignon Blanc. Their Freeman's bay one is lovely. :bigups:

There can be a huge difference from year to year, as the crop can be very different due to weather conditions etc. I don't know if it's actually illegal to advertise one year but sell a different one, but essentially you can't assume that they will be the same, they might be totally different.

A case in point is the Lidl Prosecco (orange label on the bottle, not currently in the shops as far as I've noticed). The first time I saw this was maybe 2007 or 2008, possibly 2009. Anyway it was really really lovely, and a total steal at the price (under €10). The following year's version (same label etc) wasn't as good by any means. I haven't bought it in a long long time but I wouldn'r assume anything without trying it though.
