It disappeared in Friday, I saw the collection lorry in our estate on Friday morning, then I thought dh must've pulled it around the side but when i webt to out sone recycling into it it was gone!! :A (22): it's a quiet estate and our house is at the back, so someone hardly came into the estate and came all the way back to ours just to take a fancy to our bin!! Could the collection lorry have taken it?
We've asked the neighbours on either side and had a walk around but to no avail...it has our house No. on it in large stickers...

Seriously...would someone have taken it in broad daylight?
Would the bin company take it without saying? I missed a payment in Jan for the first time ever, but February's direct debit went no problems.... WTF is my wheely bin?!??

Ring the bin company . This happened my neighbour a few months ago we searched the whole estate till I said wonder if it fell into the lorry. She rang them and they said yes the driver reported that a bin fell into the lorry. They arrived next day with new bin

On day when ours was being collected I saw the lorry through the window but when I went out a short time later the bin was missing, I rang the company and they said it may have fell in altogether as it happens sometimes they just dropped off a new bin a day later.

That's mad Ted! My mum worked in the office for a bin company for years and never heard if it happening! I'll ring them on Tuesday to see... I really hope this is what happened!

Why would anyone want to rob a wheely bin though? It's not like it's a student area or anything!

My black and brown wheelie bins were robbed a few weeks ago... they were burned up at the fields behind my house for warmth while the scumbags went knacker drinking...

All the recycling bins (none of the rubbish bins) in my mams area were nicked and burnt up at a field not too far away. Seemingly they also target them for identity theft, things like bills and bank statements not shredded. Company delivered a new one within a few days.

Jamhaq that's a bit frightening, I usually try to remove names & addresses from letters before recycling but have been a bit lax sometimes, your post is a good reminder to do it all the time.

I rang the bin company this morning, they asked no questions just said id have a new one by Friday, so I'm still just supposing it fell into their lorry!

Many, many moons ago (like 15yrs) my bin went missing & a neighbour, technically, called to tell me my bin was stuck up on his pillar & did I want it back?! I still wonder why he didn't just push it back to me, rather than calling to the house to ask if I wanted it back. Oh the shame of being early 20's & having to push a wheelie bin home; made slightly easier my my room-mate shouting 'free me' every few feet. It was funny, honest

Hope you got your bin back in good nick.
