Unfortunately I couldn't test this out before posting as my oven went bust. Also I forgot the recipe and am in work now but I think this is it! If not I will come back and change it.

Apologies for links but I am on phone. First one is the ribs, second is the pasta.

I use a very similar, if not identical, Nigella marinade for sausages and it's absolutely gorgeous, so tasty. DD1 adores ribs as does DS but DD2 should be happy with the Mac & Cheese so think this should suit everyone.

What a flop this recipe is!!
I made it today, finally. The ribs got overcooked so lost their stickiness but were still very tasty. I thought the mac and cheese was really lovely.

Just wanted to post the recipe itself:

Sticky spare ribs
Ingredients:

Servings:
3-4
Units: US | Metric
125 ml sweet chili sauce (Thai or Chinese)
60 ml cranberry sauce
60 ml dark sweet soy sauce
1 clementine , juice and sliced rind
1 lime , juice and sliced rind
15 -20 pork spareribs
Directions:

1.Place all the ingredients and ribs into a large freezer bag and mix well.
2.Seal the bag and place it on a dish so that it can lie flat then transfer the bag to the fridge and leave overnight to marinate.
3.When ready to cook, preheat the oven to 180C/350F/Gas 4.
4.Remove the ribs from the fridge and transfer them from the freezer bag to a roasting tin and cover loosely with aluminium foil.
5.Transfer the roasting tin to the oven. Cook the ribs in the oven for an hour, turning them over after half an hour.
6.Raise the oven temperature to 200C/400F/Gas 6 and remove the foil from the roasting tin.
7.Cook for a further 15-30 minutes, or until the ribs are sticky and cooked through.

Macaroni and Cauliflower Cheese Bake
From the book Jamie’s Food Revolution by Jamie Oliver
Introduction

You can either serve this macaroni unbaked, so it’s loose, gooey, and silky, or bake it under the broiler for a few minutes before serving to give it a crispy, golden topping. You could even try adding a grated hard-boiled egg or cooked prawns, but I like the simple style, as here.

Ingredients

½ a head of cauliflower
8 oz. Cheddar cheese
4 oz. Parmesan cheese
~ A small bunch of fresh Italian parsley
~ Sea salt
1 lb. dried macaroni (elbows)
1 cup crème fraîche or sour cream
Steps

To prepare your pasta: Remove the outer green leaves from the cauliflower and discard. Slice the end off the cauliflower stalk and cut the head into small florets. Halve the thick stalk lengthways, then slice thinly. Grate the Cheddar and Parmesan into a large heatproof bowl. Finely chop the parsley stalks and leaves.
To cook your pasta: Bring a large pan of salted water to a boil. Add the macaroni and all your cauliflower and cook according to the macaroni-package instructions. Place the bowl of cheese over the saucepan and add the crème fraîche. Carefully stir every so often until the cheese is smooth and melted. If the water boils up beneath the bowl, just turn the heat down slightly. Add all the chopped parsley to the melted cheese and season with a pinch of salt and pepper.
Carefully remove the bowl of cheese using a towel or oven gloves and put aside. Drain the macaroni in a colander over a bowl, reserving the cooking water. Return the pasta to the pan, pour in the melted cheese, and stir. It should have a lovely, silky consistency, but if it’s too thick for you, add a splash of your cooking water to thin it out a bit.
At this point you can either serve the macaroni as is, or finish it under the broiler to make it crispy and golden on top. To do this, preheat your broiler to a medium to high heat. Add ⅔ cup of the reserved cooking water to the macaroni, stir in, then transfer to a baking dish. Place under the broiler until golden and bubbling.
To serve your pasta: Divide the pasta between plates or bowls, or place the baking dish in the middle of the table next to a nice green salad and let everyone help themselves

Thanks raven.
A tip on the mac and cheese: melting the cheeses over the cooking pasta is a bit fussy, I just put them in a saucepan.

We had this for dinner last night, well DH & the children did, I'm trying my best to be good so cheesy sauces are out!

The ribs were lovely and I think they'd have been even nicer after a bit more time in the oven but everyone was starving after swimming so I took them out once they were cooked. As I said before I do a similar marinade for cocktail sausages and it gets lovely a sticky so I assume this would do the same. DS devoured them, he completely ignored the mac & cheese and kept eating ribs.

I had a taste of the Mac & cheese and it was lovely, children managed to pick out most of the cauliflower :sigh: Dh thought it was lovely and DD1 has taken the leftovers to school for lunch today.

Both will be made again, thanks for posting Raykay.

Did the mac and cheese for the boys and they loved it, didn't notice the cauliflower. DS1 who says he doesn't like mac and cheese cleared his plate!!
