ds4 is 7 weeks old. During the week I was feeling a bit crampy. Yesterday I had a show of old blood and this morn a fresher looking show but not bright red iykwim. When I wiped, it looked like the start of my AF
This eve I took mt first pill, (first in nearly 8 yrs).
But tonight when I went to change my tampon, there was no sign whatsoever of blood (tmi) old or fresh.
So what do I do about the pill now? Have I taken it when I don't have my AF? Can I stop now and start again when I know for def I have my AF? Haven't a clue when/if I ovulated. OH keeps asking if I've had my AF as we got a little amorus couple of weeks back without protection (but not full on dtd iykwim)
What do I do?

I guess this would be your first period since having your baby? So it would be a bit odd anyway, not usual, if that makes sense.

Can you get to ask a pharmacist tomorrow? It doesn't have to be in the same place where you got the pill even. I'd continue to take the next pill tomorrow though if it was me.

Yea will get to the chemist tomoro anyway for stuff for dd. I'll see in the morn if mr. AF has arrived. They are like babies really aren't they and decide to make an appearance at night!
Although reading another thread and a lady got pg while taking the same pill. :nervous:

Wtf?

I'd deffo keep taking it for now although my GP said that it's best to hang on for one proper cycle just so you know where you are. Is it the mini pill or combined?

I think it's combined. It's yasminelle.

Taylor Keith, what are you on about? I asked about taking my pill, nothing else. What's the economy or OH got to do with that?

Is that pill very expensive? Maybe TK thinks you can't afford it :sleepy:

And just to remind taylor keith, this is the CONTRACEPTION thread, surely less expensive, in this economical downturn as you put it.

IIRC you can start taking the pill at any time during your cycle, it just takes longer to become effective if it's not CD1.

Have you read the leaflet from the box - that should have some information on what to do.

Correct there, and I think it's not that it takes longer to be effective but that you should give it 7 days just incase of ovulation in the first few days where as if you start on cd1 you won't ov in the first few days so you can assume immediate reliability. Then again I could be way off

I would continue taking it for the month and definitely not stop or skip one.

Either way, you should probably take additional precautions for the month... I.e, condoms.. Until you know for sure it's working.

Spoke to the pharmacist and she said to continue taking it and using extra precautions.
So, done that. But I forgot to ask, could my AF arrive mid pack, and what about the 7 day gap?
If my AF arrives mid pack, should I start a new pack and be back on track that way?
Or if it hasn't arrived after the pack AND the 7 day gap, should Iwait for it to arrive before starting the 2nd pack.
Sorry for all questions, but I don't think the info leaflet has a paragraph on.....taking the pil when no AF is happening!

Back to the pharmacy with you! Or just ring them back and get them to clarify that for you. I'm sure they get endless questions about the pill so don't worry about it.

Carry on taking all the supplied pills until all 21 are gone take your 7 day break and start into your next packet. You really need to read the information booklet that comes with it, it will inform you better.

The pill is only as reliable as the person taking it so be careful!!

AFAIR you can start a pill at anytime during your cycle if you use a barrier method of contraception for 7 days. You probably won't get any bleeding til your 7 day break except maybe some "old" blood
