Does anybody know how safe this is as a method of contraception. I had it done over 12 mths ago while having my 4th c section but am finding it hard to relax completely about it. I think part of my problem is that I ended up with a GA so wasn't aware of it being done IYKWIM. It was written on my file as done but Google isn't helping as all I'm seeing are the people it didn't work for. There is also talk of some test/scan to make sure it worked which I'm presuming isn't standard practice in this country as it was never mentioned to me. So can anybody point me in the right direction for some realistic stats?

Have no idea of statistics but i know i'm 3.5 years post op with no concerns.
It is very hard initially to relax about this method of contraception but so far so good for me.

Thanks pineapple 46. Good to hear it gets easier to trust it. I was BF up to recently enough so have only had a couple of periods. Having had 5 pregnancies in the last 8 years I guess I'm kinda used to knowing where I am in my cycle and it's kinda hard to get my head around the fact that I will not get pregnant when I know I'm ovulating!

6.5yrs in here and no problems. Mind you, if AF is late (which it has been quite a bit lately due to stress), I still have a minor panic attack

baldrick, don't mind me, I'm a bit OCD at the best of times. After using my ghd I have to turn it off turn off the switch on the socket, unplug it and then check it at least twice! I have also been known to get out of bed to check the doors are locked after checking them before I went to bed. My DH and kids have knocked most of it out of me though by refusing to allow me to be organised.
I had a plan to check with the consutant that it was being done but then I was knocked out so think that could be part of my problem.
Mammy4life, don't tell me that. I was always a regular 28 day gal and it's been 34ish days the last too months. I even bought a pregnancy test the 1st month but have promised myself never to do that again as it's just a waste of money and I have had my fair share of peeing on a stick!
Think I just need somebody to tell me to cop on, It can't happen :stupid:
