Is they any type of spray( odour) or item that will keep them away from my patio doors ?

Oooh, very good question that I'd love an answer for too! I'd love to know if there was some way of deterring them. Maybe there's some plant that could be in pots at the door? Dying to see if anyone has any ideas!!

My two tap at the patio doors to be let in. They love to lie down on the step and look in to see what is happeing in the kitchen :lol:

I remember looking into this before and I don't think there's anything you can do other than:

Fence the area off
Hose them with water every time they come to the door and they'll soon learn not to!

I haven't done either and am prepared to live with it. Enraged, mine do that too.. :biggrin: But I think they're pecking tiny flies off the glass (your explanation sounds better though).

They are now deterred for good - I couldnt take the poo on the steps anymore - we fenced them in , I researched it unfortunately and there was nothing that would put them off once they decided it was a nice spot to hang out
