I just thought I would put this up, I had an emergency c-section with ds and it was very traumatic and I was afraid this time I would be left with similar feelings but I wasn't and it was a lovely experience.

We arrived in the Rotunda Monday 4th April at 9 am, we were shown to a bed on the lillie suite and I was asked some questions and asked to get into a gown and wait.
They came around 11 to get us and took us down to a room outside the theatre where we met the team all of which were lovely and smiley.
I was then brought into theatre and sat up on the trolley where they explained what would happen, I had the spinal which was a little bit scary but then dh was brought in and sat beside my head.
It was so calm, I can't believe how calm it was. I did feel a good bit of pressure but then heard the loudest baby scream I have ever heard,I asked was she a girl and they said yes and a very big girl at that! they brought her straight to me and both dh and I cried, the nurse got dh to go over with her and weigh Sarah and clean her a bit and then she brought her to me and I tried to hold her for a few minutes which was lovely.

Dh then went of with Sarah and the nurse and the doc's stitched me up and I went to recovery. I was then brought back to my bed on the ward and fed Sarah for the first time. They had moved me to a bed by the window and the sun was shining in.I had a cot attached to the bed so I could lift Sarah up myself.I wasn't in any pain and I wasn't wrecked. The midwives were fantastic and so supportive and I cried leaving. It was truly a lovely relaxing and easy birth experience.

I had a fantastic hospital experience.

So That's my special experience of how my beautiful little Sarah weighing 9lbs8oz came into the world at 12.03pm on Monday the 4th of April 2011.

Lovely story :)

Didn't know you could get cots that attach to the bed, very handy

UD I'm so thrilled everything went so well. Had v similar experience to u first time around and quite addled as to what to do this time around. All I know is I do not want an emergency section; one was more than enough & couldn't deal with all that panic etc again.

It was great to hear everything was so calm, very re-assuring.

But even more importantly Sarah looks absolutely divine! Congrats to all the family and look after yourself.

CC

Lovely story and welcome to the world Sarah.

Had 2 elective sections in the Rotunda and I have nothing but the height of praise for the staff, esp on DS2.
