Should we book cafe mickey, is it worth it or is there something else that's better? we are only there for 2.5 days ie staying 3 nights but arriving in the evening and going back in the evening.

Any other recommendations of things we should do or thiings we shouldn't bother with?

All tips welcome!

We were there last Easter and booked all the character meals with the hotel as soon as we arrived. We had no problem getting the time slots we wanted.
There were huge queues outside cafe mickey each evening, but I think they were mainly day visitors to the park

Yes def go, we had a fab time there. Tip 1. I would recommend an early dinner, we booked fo 6.15 but there was a large queue of people who had reservations luckily we were at the frint but still had a ten min wait and when we were coming out the queue was massive. They were only accepting reservations. Tip 2. I Also would suggest sharing a pizza between kids to keep cost down. Tip 3 do not under any circumstances go there for breakfast, we wanted to treat ourselves on last day and it was horrible and cost a fortune!!!

Don't eat at Cowboy Cookout! It's overpriced and the food is yuck. Definitely go to Cafe Mickey, much, much better all round. Don't wait till the parks are closing or till the parade is finished before deciding what to do about dinner. Everywhere will be packed. Go out, have your dinner and go back in if you want to.

Do use your early magic hours - get to the parks as close to 8am as you can and head for Fantasyland. With your small kids you can then go on all their favourites with little or no queuing.
If they ask you do you want to book breakfast in the park then take the latest time slot you can (think it's around 9.45 or 10.00). This way you can go and have breakfast/brunch just as the park is getting busy (having done all your rides during EMH).
Bring snacks (muesli bars and the like) with you to keep you going till you get your breakfast.
Bring plates of stuff to your table for breakfast and take the leftovers with you (it'd only get thrown out anyhow)

When the parks are busy (mid afternoon usually) try and go to see the shows in the Studios - Micky Mouse Clubhouse, Stitch live, Animagique etc.

That's all I can think of offhand!
