so i have decided i will go back to sims in september, in the mean time i am going to try and conceive naturally if possible.so after 6 years of fertility treatments, i conceived dd2 naturally, and now she is 20 months and i would really like her to have a sibling close in age.i will use opks etc and track my cycle more closely as it has become a bit shorter.i will use the smep also.the only thing i can think of that i was doing differently when i conceived dd2 was taking zinc tablets.i suffer quite badly with the skin on my hands and this was recommended to me one of the benefits of zinc is supposedly increased fertility.i was only taking it 2 months when i got a suprise bfp.i had been on methformin for 2 months but had stoped taking it for 2 months prior to bfp.
is there anything you can attribute to helping you conceive?
i would be very interested to hear what you think helped you? Thanks.

Having my dd1 helped me have my dd2! I presumed we'd need ivf again so we weren't really trying, and I was pregnant 3 months after we stopped using condoms. With any luck you'll hit the jackpot too!

neena i haven't used any contraception in over 10 years and dd2 is the only pregnancy i had.i also thought maybe i would catch again really quickly,i know its only been 20 months but time is not on my side.
dd 1 was nearly 16 when dd2 was born so effectively was reared as an only child, now she is off to college this year and i feel dd2 is going to be reared as an only child iykwim.i would love her to have a sibling to grow up with.

I was diagnoised with early menopause and low egg reserves, plus I wasn't ovulating every month, so we had decided to go down the ivf route after two years of trying unsuccessfully.
I did a couple of sessions of reflexology to cleanse my system before starting the treatment as I was advised that it can help fertility and I got a surprise bfp a few weeks after my sessions!
We had also been using concieve plus and tbh I think that this made a difference too.

Best of luck!

I swear taking agnus cactus up to ovulation and eating loads of tinned pineapple with cinnamon helped on all 3 of mine.

Really high dose B vitamins rather than the regular B-complex supplements. They're called B50 (high dose) or B100 (very high dose) and you can get them in health food shops. Start on the B50 once a day and see how that goes, as too much B vitamins can give you tingling in your fingers (if that happens just stop). Though the only side effect I noticed was luminous yellow wee. Oh, and they smell of Marmite.

Oh, and I found the (annoyingly expensive) Clearblue digital ovulation tests, used in the afternoon, worked very well for pinpointed fertile days.

I used a mixture of zinc tablets, evening primrose oil up until ovulation and vitamin b complex all the way through my cycle. I was also on metaformin for pcos to help me concieve.

On ds it took 9 months after i started metaformin to get a bfp.

This time it took us 14 months after starting metaformin again and this little bundle is due this sat!

Best of luck x

I have been on metformin for PCOS before all 3 of my successful pregnancies.

Also agnus castus really regulated my cycles as well.

I was just browsing old threads when I came across this thread, would you believe I got a bfp the following month.
Dd3 is not here with us unfortunately but I forgot how quickly I conceived her as it normally takes a lot longer.
We would love another bfp so finger crossed for myself and all those on the ttc journey.

I was on clomid and found the clearblue opk very good. Once on both of those, I was pregnant with twins within a couple of months after 6yr infertility and recurrent m/c's.

Pretty much the same for us - ttc for 2 years, got endo cyst lasered away and got pg 2 months later. Got pg with dd2 after 2 months ttc and didn't even ttc at all this time around. For my first two pgs I conceived on the months I was taking b vitamins.

I used CBFM for a few months before BFP but with irregular and long cycles like I had, it really didn't suit me so I went back to OPK's. I just used cheapie cassette type ones as I found these the easiest to use and it was useful for me to see the line getting a bit darker before an actual + so that I knew ovulation was on the way, this was invaluable for me with my messy cycles. It was my 3rd month on Clomid when I got pregnant, I was taking 2,000mg of EPO up to ovulation and Vit B Complex after that til AF. That was just for the last 2 months. But I was away visiting my parents for a few days the week before AF was due and forgot the B Complex so didn't take it for a few days from around 7 or 8 dpo, not sure if that made any difference. EPO defo made a diff to CM, helping DH's swimmers get to where they were needed!

ETA: I ended up pregnant with twins! Not sure if this was due to Clomid or would have happened anyway but it doesn't matter how it happened, am delighted! :)

I took all the usual supplements - EPO, vit. b, Angus catus, while ttc both my DSs. On DS2, I started on Royal Jelly too, after 2 years ttc, and got my bfp 2 months later. Now obviously there may not be any connection whatsoever, but it might be worth a shot.

I haven't used contraception in 4 years, (actively trying for over a year) and got pregnant within 8weeks, once I went on the smep and using clear blue opks. It turns out I ovulate on day 7/8, rather than mid cycle.

I was eating extremely healthily (not cutting out any food groups, but lots of fruit and veg) and had cut out caffeine. I was also taking pregnacare conception vitamins.

Good luck. I hope you aren't waiting too long.

Eta: Im also of the belief that *knowing* something was about to be done to help, helped us relax, and possibly get pregnant. I was just to start medication in December, so knew things would start to sort out then, and I got a bfp at the end of Oct.

Thanks girls have started smep this month.
Can't take royal jelly as I'm asthmatic, taking complex b, evening primrose and zinc.
