Kelly Brook reveals the pain of losing two babies in new book

Kelly Brook, model and TV presenter, has opened up about her tragic miscarriage experiences in her new autobiography.

The model had been in a relationship with rugby player Thom Evans when she fell pregnant, and the couple happily revealed their exciting baby news.

Tragically, at six months pregnant she lost the baby. In her book, Kelly insists it was a miscarriage rather than a stillbirth: “In my mind, it was a miscarriage. That was how I was going to deal with it … But the hospital were insisting otherwise. They kept on asking me for a name. Thom and I had yet to even discuss this. I must give them a name they said. Thankfully, my mum was there to give me support. We both said ‘No Name’”.

“Looking back, I was trying to detach myself – with love- for my own sanity.”

Kelly also explained that the tragedy brought her and Thom closer together for a while: ”After the miscarriage Thom and I decided it was time to make a fresh start … Thom proposed. He’d bought a beautiful ring. I immediately said yes. The miscarriage actually brought us closer together.”

She also revealed that they began to try for another baby and did fall pregnant. Sadly, she later lost this baby: ”Later I went to see my doctor, who said, ‘The best way to get over this is to try and get pregnant again’. ”So Thom and I weren’t careful, and just before Christmas 2011, I got pregnant again. The look on Thom’s face said it all. I think he was terrified … I had another miscarriage after a few weeks.”

The stress of the two tragedies had taken its toll on the couple’s relationship and the two eventually went their separate ways:  “‘We were still engaged in November 2012 … Not long after that, he and I split up. His modelling career was picking up and a big US agent wanted to represent him. He was excited and so was I. I suggested we rent a flat in LA so I could visit. I was incredibly hurt when he said he wanted to go alone. He didn’t want to be weighed down by a flat. When I brought up the subject of marriage and children, the colour drained from his face. He wanted to focus on his ‘new life’ in LA – a wife and children would slow him down. He didn’t want to be in a relationship any more. It was obvious.”

Kelly is currently happily engaged to David McIntosh, revealing the exciting news back in March.
