Facebook under fire for rejecting "graphic" image of sick baby

hudson and dadFacebook has come under serious fire as its censorship seems to have reached a new level when a photo of a sick baby was rejected for being deemed “too graphic”.

Baby boy, Hudson Bond was born on July 18th, and a week later it was discovered that he would need a heart transplant to survive.

His dad Kevin set up a Facebook page to raise awareness and hopefully money for his little boy’s medical bills, which are mounting to $75,000.

However, when he tried to pay $20 to boost the post, meaning more people would see it, Facebook refused as the picture was “scary, gory or sensational, and evokes a negative response.”

The North Carolina dad spoke of the hurt caused by Facebook’s response, saying: “I was really hurt actually. I mean I kind of cried. He’s my son, I love him. And to have someone reject a picture … [of] my beautiful son lying in a hospital bed needing help – that really cut me. We love our son, we just want to share his story and raise awareness for kids like him and to see that request denied is hard considering some of the other garbage you see on that page.”

If you would like to donate to Hudson’s medical bills, you can do so here.
