Creative ways to tell him you’re pregnant

In this day and age, announcing a pregnancy doesn’t always have to be about a serious talk between two people. Nowadays, you can be as creative as you want about it.

Whether it’s an unexpected pregnancy or not, you can still use one of these fun ideas to break the news to him about your growing little bundle of joy.

A bit of word play

When you’re ready to break the news to him, spell out the words, ‘You’re going to be a daddy’ on a Scrabble board. If you want you can put the pregnancy test (or tests) you used to confirm this around the letters too. Suggest you play the game and let him be the one to take out the board.

A fortune cookie

Pop into an Asian market for some fortune cookies. Use tweezers to pull out the fortune that’s already in there and replace it with a personalised one. This is a cute way to break the news.

Get it printed

Get the words ‘I’m going to be a daddy’ printed on a T-shirt and wrap it up so it looks like a gift. When he arrives home, tell him you have a surprise and watch him unwarp the pressie. You might want to have a camera ready to capture this beautiful moment.

Put a bun in the oven

If you have any friends or family with young children, see if you can get a lend of their baby’s socks. Use the socks to make a trail from the bedroom to the kitchen and scatter a few in front of the oven. Have a sign up that says, ‘open me’ and watch his reaction to the bun in the oven.

Rose petals

How can you possibly go wrong with rose petals? Spell out the words congratulations using rose petals on top of your bed and lay the pregnancy test in the middle. Make sure you’re by his side when he goes to the bedroom. To make things extra special you can blindfold him into the bedroom!
