Baseball players were caught on their phones... but you'll never guess what they were doing

We're quick to judge younger generations once we see those dreaded phones come out of their pockets.

They sit for hours, scrawling through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat.

And if that's not enough they like to play online games, while texting friends – would you really wonder why they can't take their eyes off the screens?

So when Bob Holtzman snapped a picture of these two guys sitting at a baseball game absorbed in their phones, all us elder folk were quick to tut.

However, we'll be thinking twice about that one again, because Bob shares something so incredible, it left our hearts warm.

The two boys sitting together had just met while at the Little League World Series, but they had a problem.

One was from South Dakota, while the other was from the Dominican Republic – the issue, it was hard to understand one another.

The language barrier would halt many, but not these guys; while they may have been absorbed in their devices, they were also deep in conversation.

Because these innovative youngsters were getting to know one another through the help of Google Translate; the journey to becoming friends was aided by their phones.

Bob claimed it was the coolest thing he spotted at the games, and we cannot disagree with him.

So the next time we spot youngsters entranced in their devices – we shouldn't be quick to judge they're not paying attention to the world – in fact, it could be quite the opposite.
